EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS
SCHOOL PROJECT
It remains a sad reality that Delta is the only Conference in WNUC without a denominational
educational institution. In an effort to change this situation, the conference, in collaboration
with Adventist Health and Educational Development Services (AHEDS) through the WNUC
Leadership is working on something in that regard.
To that effect, In July 2017 the AHEDS Director; Prof. Kayode Makinde paid us an unprecedented
visit to Delta. As a follow up his visit, the negotiation to acquire 180 hectares of land along Ozoro
Asaba Road, Ellu Community is at an advanced stage.
At present, to the glory of God, we have:
• 2 Nursery/Primary Schools, in Aladja and Oghara
• the structure for a secondary School is being built by Delta AWM at Ozoro.

ALL SECRETARIES’ TRAINING
In a bid to equip churches and Departmental Secretaries in the Conference, we held consecutive Training sessions for all-Secretaries in 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2018 at different centers.

SOME SPECIAL EVENTS
• In March 10 – 15, 2014 The Conference actively participated in the celebration of the Church Centenary program in a ground style: The events included media talk-show, rally and, climaxed with a Sabbath Service of Recognition and Affirmation of pioneers, where all our pioneers were honored.
• A historical Bible Conference was organized by the youth Department in May this year-2016. More than 200 members were in attendance.
• The Family Life department held a special Family Life / Stewardship Retreat in September 30 – October 2, 2016. The Retreat had more that 150 couples in attendance including non Adventists.
SEMINARS AND WORKSHOPS
AWM leadership training held July 13 – 17, 2017 at Maryland Schools, Warri.
AMO and AWM in collaboration with Stewardship Department had two separate Skill acquisition seminars in May this. Participants were taught how to make coconut oil, bake bread, real estate investment etc.
CHALLENGES
• The crisis in the Oil Industry has greatly impacted the Conference financial base, as Delta economy revolves mainly around oil.
• The volatility and restiveness of the host communities, to say the least hampered our developmental strides.
• Over-stretched of manpower• The challenge of how to contextualize our message without compromising the essence of
the everlasting gospel.• Lack of office space for Directors• Poor equipment of the Conference Secretariat • Seasonal flooding of some part of the Territorry
