TerraSond has the equipment and expertise essential to providing comprehensive, precise oceanographic measurements. We own and operate a full range of single beam, multibeam, and side scan sonar systems. Projects often require a customized integration of other measurements such as water levels, currents, wind, waves and water quality. Obtaining these measurements requires the knowledge and expertise from a team experienced with operating the specialty systems needed for scanning and real-time monitoring in all water depths. Our core competencies include tailored design solutions to map the sea floor, lake or river bottom using the most current, sophisticated technologies and techniques. Whether the project goal is to support safe navigation, design requirements, installation and/or maintenance of infrastructures or to locate lost assets, TerraSond can provide effective solutions to all of your hydrographic needs.

TerraSond performs precise real-time positioning for marine projects both above and below the surface. Our expertise includes the positioning of vessels, barges and other structures on the surface, as well as divers, Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs), or towed sensors or other specialized equipment below the surface. Our solid understanding of the technologies and techniques available allow us to develop solutions for projects such as recovery of sunken assets, investigation of wrecks, installation of pipelines and cables, positioning of oil drilling platforms, installation of pipelines and cables, dredging and construction support. We know from experience that projects requiring positioning have extensive amounts of equipment on hire, large teams of people and high operational costs; TerraSond’s positioning team gets it “right the first time” safely, quickly and reliably.

TerraSond performs marine geophysical services for investigation and geologic interpretation of subsurface conditions in lakes, rivers and offshore for multiple industry sectors. Our geophysicists and geologists design and perform surveys for search, design and geohazard assessment projects. Using sub-bottom profiling, high resolution multi-channel/multi component seismic, magnetometers and gradiometers, resistivity, seabed samplers and other tools, TerraSond determines sea floor structure to support design or geohazard assessments. These efforts and tools assist in locating submerged pipelines and cables as well as lost or misplaced assets. We have developed unique solutions for locating released oil, both sunken and in the water column. The TerraSond team has created innovative proprietary solutions for locating submerged power cables/pipelines and continues to advance the science and delivery of marine geophysical surveys.
