The district offers a wide range of courses and extracurricular options that ensure every student is not only college or career ready, but they are prepared to succeed in life after graduation.

It is with this deeper sense of purpose in mind that we present to you our first Quality Profile. This is an honest look at the way Danbury Local Schools operates and how we educate students in a more meaningful and complete way. For far too many years Danbury has been the “best kept secret” in Northwest Ohio.

Danbury is small enough to ensure every student gets the type of personal attention they deserve from caring and devoted teachers. Yet we are also providing amazing opportunities such as earning college credits while still in high school, high levels of participation in athletics, visual and performing arts as well as clubs and service organizations.

ACADEMICS FINANCESDanbury Local Schools understands that communication with parents and the community is a necessary part of any successful partnership. As such the district has developed a number of tools to keep parents and residents connected to what’s happening in the schools. From emails to social media and lots of face-to-face opportunities, our families know what’s happening in our schools.

COMMUNICATIONS

TECHNOLOGYToday students must be able to master more than basic facts. Students must also be able to use the latest technology to research information and then communicate it with those around the corner or around the globe. Danbury Local Schools takes this need seriously and provides students with a plethora of opportunities to experience technology as a part of their overall education. This includes individual computers for students in grades seven through 12 and learning labs for students in younger grades.

The classroom a student learns within is just as important as the tools they use in supporting their learning goals. Without the right environment, students can’t learn. This is why Danbury Local Schools has maintained excellent facilities that meet modern learning requirements. From an upgraded technology infrastructure to enhanced security systems, Danbury Local Schools is able to provide students and parents with the kind of learning environment that allows every student to safely and fully engage in their educational journey.

LEARNING ENVIRONMENTS WHOLE CHILDEducation today is more than the basic facts a student learns while sitting in a standard classroom. At Danbury Local Schools we believe in educating the whole child. This includes a variety of hands-on experiences both in and outside of the classroom. Danbury Local Schools offers a wide variety of opportunities for students to develop important skills such as teamwork, leadership and setting goals. From athletic teams, music programs and the arts, Danbury Local Schools truly offers a complete educational experience. 143 out of 163 students

Another key component to the value a school district provides is how much does it cost. Danbury Local Schools is effective and efficient in our day-to-day operations. We ensure that students have what they need to be successful while also holding the line on expenses. The district hasn’t asked residents for new operating dollars in 23 years. Danbury Local Schools has the second lowest property tax rate of the 39 school districts in Northwest Ohio.

The quality of education in a school district is the cornerstone of the value it provides the community. Danbury Local Schools is proud to have an excellent quality education that ranks among the top school districts in Ohio. In addition, U.S. News and World Report rated the district as one of America’s Best High Schools for three consecutive years. Students who attend Danbury Local Schools receive the personal attention they need to be successful in the classroom and are well prepared for college or the modern workforce after graduation.

GOAL: To continue to enhance the learning opportunities that technology can provide in cooperation with an amazing teacher and

high academic standards.

GOAL: Danbury Local Schools has a dedicated permanent improvement fund that allows the district to address ongoing facility needs. Soon

the district will use these funds to provide outdoor learning spaces for students and an upgraded athletic stadium.
