The beginnings of Lubliniec bring us back to the 13th century.
It is said that Lubliniec started with a hunting castle, built around 1272 by Duke Władysław Opolski.
What's our town's history?

According to a legend the name of the town originates from the words uttered by Władysław I Opolczyk, who, when hunting in the local woods, was to say I enjoy being here.
There is an association between Lubliniec and a Polish verb lubić, which means to enjoy, to like.
These words are believed to constitute the origin of the name Lubliniec.
