Dear Comrades:

Our new 2021 – 2022 VFW program year is final-ly here, and we are off to a really great start! Our past is now in a very small rear-view mirror and our bright future is in a very BIG WINDSHIELD just ahead of us! There is no reason why we cannot be successful once again. We had a lot to be proud of in our accomplishments over the past year and now that restrictions are lifted, we need to go full speed ahead with all our efforts.Our Immediate past commander Ron Peters did a

great job leading us through the pandemic. We should be confident that capitalizing on the momentum that we have, coupled with the same energy, dedication, and willingness to grow and change, we will have another outstanding year to achieve all goals including surpassing 100% in membership. We will do this through total participation in all VFW programs.Communication, Teamwork, and Commitment are the cornerstones and fuel that will drive our success. Good communication requires all District Commanders to work closely with their Posts within their areas of responsibility. District Commanders must keep our state leadership informed about the success stories in their areas and the issues that we need to handle better to make iterative improvements throughout this great Department. Program chairpersons, please fully promote your activities and encourage maximum participation by all Posts.Teamwork will help us leverage our collective strengths into victories as we share proven practices and create effective solutions to issues that require our highest and immediate attention. Commitment is the oath that we took to ensure we all do our part as leaders of this great organization to keep our department on top and set the exam-ple for others to emulate.Comrades, there is no doubt in my mind that we are looking at a great year of opportunity. People are full of energy and ready to get back to work. I look forward to working with all of you as I visit as many Districts and Posts as I can. See you on the high seas where we will experience smooth sailing on a course to VFW success!
