There will be dancing after the game. The music will be furnished by Guyer's Gleeful Rhythm-makers, the College house orches t ra . S tudents should not forget to secure guest cards from the office of Dean Anna H. Pierce, if they wish to bring outsiders to the dancing.

The All-Stars will oppose the Kappa Delta Rbo five in the pre-liminary contest which will get under way at 7:00 o'clock.

Dr. Donnal Y. The convention was conducted December 2K, 29, and 3(1 at the New Nicollet Hotel , Minneapolis, Minn, and at the University of Minnesota, with an a t tendance of 1000 members from the entire United States.

The three days ' session was divided into various sections at which one hundred papers were read. These paper-, were written and compiled by various eminent historians.

Professor Carl [Seeker of Cornell, author , historian, and president of the American Historical association, addressed the members at their annual banquet. T h e r e arc two subjects on health and physical education. One is by Mildred Wilson on the physical achievement tests in Albany schools, and the o the r on the analysis of health t ex t -books in junior high schools by Mrs . Mabel Osgood.

These in educat ion far ou tnumber those on all o the r subjects and include topics on t ranspor ta t ion in central rural schools, map interpretation, educat ional needs of the negro, extra-curricular activities, the resul ts of previous scholastic training on the student, practice teaching, grading, and educational broadcas t ing .

T w o member s of the faculty in the commerce depar tmen t have also submit ted topics. Har r i son Terwil l iger , assis tant professor of commerce , is wri t ing on the determining factors in the college commercial s tudent , and Blanche Avery, ins t ruc tor in commerce, is making a survey of New York State regen t s examinat ion in com mercial ar i th inat ic .

Dr. licik also announced that the graduate commit tee has voted to accept the theses of Katherine Coughlin on "The Study of the Pupil 's Ability to read Ari thmetic Problems" and William Delehorty on "The Legal Aspects of Religious Education in Public Schools."

By the end of two months, the new Gideon Hawley l ibrary will be ready for occupancy, accord ing to a s t a t ement made today by Mr. Francis Guinan, chief engineer of the College. T h e last s tep toward the complet ion of the l ibrary was begun dur ing the Chr i s tmas recess, when student life u t te r ly deser ted the inst i tut ion.

Mr. Guinan was confident, that condi t ions being favorable, the work of moving books into the l ibrary will begin at the end of two months . Dr. A. R. Brubacher , president, s tated early this semester that he expected the library to be ready by the la t ter part of March or the early par t of Apri l .

T h e work consists of tear ing up the old flooring of both the gymnasium and the old audi tor ium. Suppor t s for the new flooring will then be installed. T h e ent i re auditorium will be used for the library while only a small part of the gymnasium will be used for s tacks, it is expected. The remainder of the gymnas ium will be used for physical education classes. However , it will not be sufficiently large to accommoda t e basketball contests .

The l ibrary when completed will not be used as a study hall. Dr. Brubacher said earlier. It will be used as a reference and reading room, he maintained.

The final step may be said to be a result of student agi tat ion, Students several years ago saw the crowded condition of the present library, the hick of -pace to accommodate tho-e who wish to use the l ibrary to an advantage . T h e y have gone through the discomfiture of working in an inadequate space. These s tudent- have even appeared before legislative finance committees to state their case for the need ol a library.

_ An appropr ia t ion for three additional l ibrarians and an addit ional $14,000 above the regular appropr i ation has been requested for new
