Good afternoon and thank you for coming

I'm Monica Rodriguez, I’m co-founder for the ChangeAlert project, and we have developed a warning device for people with incontinence, that alerts when the pad needs to be changed.

A few years ago, we had to take care of my grandmother who was suffering from incontinence and had limited mobility. It was then when we realized that it was not the same to chek this nappy than this continence pad.

14 million people, in the UK, use continence pads, of which, 4 million have severe incontinence, this is a more prevalent condition than

asthma, epilepsy or dementia.

Currently, incontinence is managed with pads, which is an effective solution if they are changed regularly.

Care homes make continence rounds to change wet pads, but not often enough.

Carers, also struggle to check the pads of patients, who are bedridden

or suffer from dementia.

Our solution, is a warning device that consists of a reusable rubber band, which sends a signal to a bracelet that the carer wears.

They, can then change the patient's pads as soon as possible, reducing their discomfort and avoiding infections and pressure ulcers.

This also significantly reduces admissions to hospitals for conditions like these, saving millions of pounds to the national health service.

For nursing homes, warnings can be sent to a centralised computer, instead of the bracelet.

This product is unique and will transform the treatment of incontinence world wide.

We will use distributors to supply the healthcare sector and customers like chemists and supermarkets at an affordable price.

The sensor lasts for one year which will lead to yearly recurrent sales.

Initially we will focus on the UK, before scaling up internationally.

We have created prototypes of the device, that we have trialled successfully with real people with real problems.

Now, we want to test the product with a wider range of users, and gain the support of healthcare and carers organisations. Recently, we won the startup tech competition, and will represent the UK at The World Startup Tech

Competition in South Korea. ChangeAlert has a global appeal.

We will continue to spread the word, until it’s well known in the healthcare sector.

We also need to raise the funds to manufacture the product.
