EXTRAORDINARY TIMES REQUIRE

EXTRAORDINARY MEASURES.While those words are true today, they were also true in 1986 when I started Dura Coat Products. Thefirst factory was built in SouthernCalifornia which had the nation’smost stringent environmental restric-tions. I knew if we could handle the air quality issues there, we could handle them anywhere.

Today the world’s financial state again requiresextraordinary measures. Here at Dura CoatProducts, we’re going to great lengths to assistour customer/partners. As a result, we’re hearingthings like: “They have been a very good partnerto us. They have the products, technical supportand commitment to service to be one of our very best supply partners.”

We take pride in helping solve our partners’problems. When everyone wins, when everyonebenefits — you know the team is doing solid work.

One thing we’ve never compromised is quality. If we deliver an exceptional product at a fairprice, we’ll always have customers. I’m proud to say our products remain the finest in theindustry. Our coatings have some of the hardestfinishes available and withstand job site scuffingand marring. At the same time, they are easily

post formed. Ease of application isequally important. We were told bya customer at a test run, “I just putit in the pan and it ran.” Another, after a trial production run, said, “It ran at 600-700 feet per minutewith no problems. I didn’t think you could do it, but you did.”

It was a new user and they’ve been a loyal customer ever since.

A favorite story is about the customer whoasked if our coating was as good as the premium coating he had been running for years. Our answer was, “No. It’s better.” Forty-year-old coatings just can’t compete withtoday’s upgrades. As an example, our coatingsnow have Teflon®, which resists dirt and stains sothat buildings look like new for a longer time.

Dura Coat Products has a heritage of beinggreen. With our second factory built adjacent toa wildlife preserve, we live with daily concernsabout environmental issues. We’re active withCool Roof pigments to diminish the heat islandeffect and high solids to reduce VOCs. Our R&Dlab is constantly working to improve our productofferings by reducing pollutants, lowering curingtemperatures, developing greener products andreducing the carbon footprint. Around here, innovation starts with the finish. Mike Hong
