Customize TRAVEL ALERT to suit your needs! Choose your preferences by destination, urgency and category; and choose to receive consolidated news based on your preferences twice daily, news with significant travel impact as it happens, or both.

How can I customize TRAVEL ALERT? 1. Destinations Tab

Select all destinations or choose specific ones. 2. Criteria Tab – Choose your Urgency Levels

Urgency levels are based on a number of factors, including the scope, duration and frequency of an event.

- Attention: Travelers should be aware of these upcoming events such as strikes or elections that could be contentious, holidays or events that could draw large crowds, or severe weather brewing in the distance. These may be informational items about events in the future or current alerts pertaining to minor danger that can be avoided by taking simple precautions.

- Caution: Conditions are favorable for some kind of travel, weather or security disturbance, or a localized travel disturbance has occurred. Travelers should monitor media reports for further information and be prepared to react to potentially dangerous situations.

- Warning: Danger or travel disruptions are likely or an event impacting travelers across a widespread area has occurred. Alerts with this urgency will

likely require action by the traveler and they should assess the situation, stay alert and be aware of their surroundings because of events that may present danger.

- Emergency: Catastrophic events that pose significant, widespread danger or disruption. Travelers should take action at once. All emergencies will be STI’s.

3.2. Criteria Tab - Choose your Categories

Each news item is assigned to at least one category.

- Health: Environmental hazards or outbreaks of disease that could affect travelers

Safety & Security: Non-natural events that may pose a danger

- Transportation: Events that affect the free and timely circulation of travel

- Weather and Nature: Naturally occurring events that may pose danger or delay travel
