About YEPPSince 2015, United Way of Greater Union County (UWGUC) has managed the Youth Employment Pathway Program (YEPP) implemented by the Youth Employment and Training Consortium (YETC). The Consortium supports in-school youth (14-21 years old) struggling to graduate from high school and out-of-school youth (16-24 years old) not working, to attain a degree or certificate, secure employment, enroll in education or training programs, increase their earnings, and/or achieve measurable skills gained towards securing a credential or employment.
UWGUC partners with organizations to provide services, centralized training for partners and youth, provide access to GED preparation, apprenticeship programs, occupational training, and other educational opportunities. The sub-grantees will recruit and engage youth in education, mentoring and employment readiness programs to help them develop skills that will provide sustainability. Youth have an opportunity to participate in a paid work experience aligned with their career goals and/or where they learn to work. They gain valuable skills necessary for securing and retaining employment.
