1. Take 100g of broken pieces rice and wash them to remove the impurities. 2. Now crush them in powder form and soak them in sufficient amount of 0.4% NaOH solution for 20 minutes to soften them. 3. This ground mixture is mixed with water for 20 minutes. Filter it using a muslin cloth 4. Mix the filtrate in equal amount of of 0.1% NaOH. 5. The mixture is then stirred on a magnetic stirrer for 5 mins 6. Decant the supernatant was decanted 7. Add distilled water to settled material , Mix it with glass rod and allow it to stand for some time the starch will settle down. 8. Decant the supernatant and observe the settles starch grains after staining Now crush them, Now filter the mixture from cloth and the remaining filtrate is allow standing ina beaker for 2-3 hours.The starch will sit down and will be separated and dried and identification testswere performed on the starch.
