THE CL.ONE WARSThe Clone Wars encompass a complicated series of battles and skirmisheswith a complex history eoverinq approximately three years. Below are somemajor events in the Clone Wars. Gamemasters can use these events asguide-posts when creating Clone Wars adventures. They serve asgood markers forthe major events during this turbulent t ime.THE BATTLE OFNABCOThough the Battle of Naboo is l iWe more than a Skirmish between the TradeFederation and the planetary defense forces of the planet Naboo, i t is theprecursor to the Clone Wars, which begin ten vears later. The repercussionsof this battle echo through the Clone Wars and beyond. After the Battle ofNaboo, Palpatlne Iselected to the post of Supreme Chancellor, allowing himto manipulate the Republic into the Clone Wars. Meanwhile, the Trade Fed-erat ion is rebuffed and joins with the other trade organizat ions to form thealliance that eventually becomes the Confeder~cy of Independ~nt Systems.Lastly, the Battle of Naboo leads to Anakin Skywalker becoming the Padawanof Obi-Wan Kenobi, a course of events thai shakes the entire galaxy.THE BATTL.EOFOECNCSISThe fi rst true battle of the Clone WafS. the Battle of Geonosls introducesthe Grand Armv of the Republic and unleashes the clone troopers upon thegalaxy. On this desolate planet the first shots of the galactic conflict aref ired, and the ful l extent of Count Dooku's betrayal becomes evident to theIedi. Many Jedi die on Geonosts. but just as many are thrust into the Com-mand of clone forces, seHing a precedent that draws the Jedi out into thegalaxy asmilitary leaders.CCRueCANT ANDUTAPAUAfler three years of struggling against the Confederacy, the Jedi strike amajor blow against the Separatists wi th the death of Count Dooku. In theprocess of rescuing Supreme Chancellor Palpat ine from the flagship of theSeparat is t f leet, Anakin Skywalker dispatches the Sith apprentice, and theRepublic wins a significant victory. A short t ime later, Obi-Wan Kenobi endsGeneral Grievous's reign of terror during the siege of Uiapau. Ina short time, the Jedi el iminate two of the Confederacy 's powerful leaders, and the tideshifts heavily' in favor of the Republic.

ORDERSSWithout strong mili tary leadership, the Confederacy is on the brink of col-lapse. The Jedi suspect that Palpatine has no intention of giving up his powerafter the Clone Wa.rs end. After a confrontation leaves Mace Windu deadand Anakin Slcywalker as the new apprentice of Darth Sidious, done forcesthroughout the galaxy respond to Order 66. turning on their Jedl generalsand slaughter ing the noble defenders of the Republic . With the Jedi Orderwiped out, Slcywalker, now named Darth Vader travels to Mustafar, murdersthe remaining lea.ders of the Confederacy, and brj'ngs the Clone War, to itstrue end.

NoeL-seThe Clone Wars can bediff icult for nobles. Those nobles who are members ofnoble houses or corpora tions on disputed worlds might find their resourcesdrained by one faction or another, and others' homes a nd I ivelihoods arecompletely destroyed when conflict comes to their home planet. Thoughnobles can fil l their traditional role, the Clone War~ provide opportunities fornobles to see what l ife is like for most ci tizens of the galaxy. When a bat tle.between the Separatists and t he R e p u bli c literally destroys everything theyknow and love, r n a ny nobles turn to a life among the stars, using their ski li sand knowledge to their advantage. With nothing lef t to lose. some noblesflee their hO("'lcworlds.seeking a haven safer and farther from the war, onlyto find themselves drawn badin.

By the same token. many nobles find their own place in the war. Thosenobles whose wealth ties them to the various commercial inst itut ions thatmake up the Confederacy find it in their best interests to contribute to thewar effort ~Joblesserve as officers aboard Separatist starships or leadground troops into battle. Other nobles are not so eager to th ro w their sup-port in with the Separatists, despite their financial ties, and instead turntheir back on the Confederacy to support the Republic. Those nobles who donot become mili tary of ficers (on one side of the conf lict or the other) mightfight to protect their interests or to expand their influence and profit fromthe chaos of war. Many nobles f ind t he rnse lves on worlds occupied by thefactions they do not support, and to survive they put on a friendly face fortheir new masters while secretly working against them from within. Eventhough these nobles might bebranded astraitors or collaborators, they knowin their hearts where their true loyalties l ie.New N'OBL.E TAL.ENTSThe follow; ng new talents are intended for use with the noble class.C o lla b or ato r T a le n t T r eeSome nobles learn to work both sides of the confl let in war and can manipu-late their enemies into believing they are all ies.c Double Agent: When you roll Initiative at the beg inn ing of combat.also roll a Deception check, comparing the result to the Wil l Defense of allenemies in line of sight If your Deception check is successful, that targetcannot attack you and doesnot believe you to bean enemy (thoug h they donot consider vou an ally) while this effect isactive. If you at tack or otherwiseobviously harm or hinder a target under the effect or this talent, or one ofthat target's al lies, this effect ends.
