2 PORT - HIGH PRESSUREForged Brass Body For Use With all Star Actuators
ApplicationThe Star body is compatible with all Staractuators. Depending on the actuator chosen, thevalve is suitable for systems requiring on-off,modulating or fully proportional control. Applica-tions include, but are not limited to, zone control onhydronic systems, fan coils, control of domesticheating loops and storage tanks, humidity controland industrial process control.
DescriptionEvery Star body is compatible with all Star actuators. Star valvesare designed primarily for use on chilled or hot water. The valves arecompatible with hundreds of other fluids in many environments. The lowpressure bodies are incompatible with steam systems; high pressurebody and plate are required.
OperationThe Star bodies utilize a ball that swings be-tween two orifices, or seats. The seats are coni-cally shaped to provide proportional flow, everdecreasing as the ball approaches until 100% ofthe flow ceases. While the largest seat is ma-chined directly out of the forged brass body, thesmaller INSERT-A-SEATS are factory or field in-serted to change the flow and pressure differentialcharacteristics of the valve. The ball, stem andbearing plate are removable for cleaning or re-placement. Since the plate forms a water-tightseal with the forging, the actuator may be re-moved without draining the system.

INSTALLATION
Valves are labelled with “W” and “” symbols for port identifi-cation. 2-port valves are unidirectional when equippped with aN/O or N/C valve (Astral or Corvus), and bidirectional whenequipped with the Lumina, Pulsar or Regulus actuators. Careshould be taken when soldering valve bodies so that the paddleis away from the seat. Actuators need not be removed prior tosoldering or installed prior to filling system.
