Quote: “If you coulderase all of the mistakesof your past, you wouldprobably erase all the wis-dom of your present.”
UnknownThe 4th of July always
reminds me of freedom. There are many kinds offreedom including free-dom of speech, freedomof worship, freedom tobear arms, and so on.
One thing that I battlecontinuously is “Freedomfrom Clutter”!
It amazes me that I canclear out a space so thatthings don’t look quite ascluttered but I go backlater and all of the STUFFhas expanded to fill thevoid. It’s just not fair! What do you keep? Whatto get rid of? Will I needthat tomorrow if I get ridof it today? Will anyoneelse even use some of thisstuff?
Maybe it has sentimen-tal value to me but does itmean anything to anyoneelse? I do know onething, if I ever have a sale,I want to be elsewhere. Itwould be very hard to seethings that have been apart of my life sell espe-cially if I could tell thatthe person who got itcould really care less.
Life goes on with deci-sions to be made everyday. None of us are get-ting any younger. Evenyou younger folks are get-ting older. Just keep inmind that my age seemedreally old to me when Iwas your age. I like tothink of myself as aunique treasure ratherthan an antique.
Have a Happy and Safe4th of July weekend!

Antiques?
That thing on the shelfOr down in the basement,Is it antique or collectible?
Is it or ain’t it?
You used that scaleFor weighing chickens? That precious churn –
For pickles and pickin’s?
Sometime we have no ideaWhat we really treasure,It might be quite valuable
Or it may just be worth pleasure.
It doesn’t really matterAs long as we enjoy itAnd the way it is used
Should be as we see fit.
The stories behind thingsAs they have been handed down
Are the real treasuresWhere memories are found.
A collection is one thing,Pleasant thoughts are another.
I will always treasure the keepsakesFrom family, my Dad and my Mother.
The book value may vary,It may not be a lot
But money’s not true value –Memories can’t be bought!
