Fuel line connection

A section of UL or AGA approved flexible fuel line is required to protect the rigid fuel line connections against generator vibration. 1' flexible fuel line connector is included.

New Base Pad

Air cooled units will now be rated for direct-to-dirt mounting.

Wind resistant housing

150 MPH wind resistant design on both steel and aluminum units, ASCE 7 Standards. Electrostatically applied texturedepoxy paint for added durability.

Exhaust enclosure

Verify spacing with local code and inspector, prior to installation. Typically, the generator must be placed awayfrom any opening in the house due to exhaust regulationsfrom NFPA guidelines.

Break in periods are not required on Siemens standby gen-erators to initiate the warranty, but are recommended.

Product Activation is required on all Evolution Controlled Models to engage automatic transfer mode. Generator will operate in manual mode until activation code is entered. Easy, one-time activation process can be completed in shop or on-site.

n External Common Fault Alarm The Evolution Controller has a

provision to connect to a set of contacts that will allow for a common alarm when any of the generator shut downs occur- This will allow individuals to connect into security systems, home automation systems or simply drive a different alarm within a home or business.

n Adjustable generator start time When utility fails, the control is factory

set to delay 10 seconds prior to starting the engine. There is also the capability to change the delay time between 2-1500 seconds.

n Incorrect Wiring Error Eliminates the potential of damaging

the Evolution Controller if it is not connected properly, a warning message is displayed that must be corrected before the controller is allowed to be fully operational.

This launch introduces an entire new line of air cooled products with several changes that highlight ease of installation, and end-user functionality. A synopsis of these changes can be found below.

Door Alignment

Updated door alignment making access to the interior of the unit with ease.

Moved pins from side panels to the door, which eliminates the need to lift up and out, vertical removal and reinstallation only

Base Changes

Allows for quicker installation, saving our consumers time and money.

Eliminates sinking and allows unit to be placed directly on ground (increased surface area by 9X).

Removable Side Panel

Controller

Includes consumer introductions on screen to reset fault prior to contacting dealer to reduce nuisance service calls.

New design eliminates the external connection box and GFCI. The main breaker is moved inside by the control panel.

SM & SL Type Transfer SwitchesTransfer switches provide the mechanism for transferring power between utility and generator service. Engineered with Digital Power Management (DPM) technology. 100-400A single phase SM & SL type transfer switches have the ability to cycle on and off 2 air conditioners without adding additional components, allowing for a smaller generator to cover more circuits than when paired with a standard transfer switch. Diesel units are compatible with the same transfer switches as natural gas/propane units.

6502 Spill Box The 5-gallon spill box screws into the existing fuel fill port of the base tank. It captures and contains fuel if over fueling or spilling occurs during the fill process.

6504 90% Fuel Level Alarm The 90% fuel level alarm alerts the fuel fill operator when the tank reaches a 90% fill level by sounding an audible alarm and triggering an LED warning light.

6505 – 15 & 20 kW6506 – 30 & 50 kW Tank Risers Tank risers are required in some municipalities to help avoid potential base tank

corrosion caused by mounting on rough surfaces.

6507 Fuel Fill Drop Tube

A powder coat painted, steel fuel fill drop tube is required in some municipalities to prevent sparking due to static electricity buildup, which can be caused by the fuel dropping into the tank from the fill area. Using a drop tube also results in submerged filling, which increases the fuel delivery flow rate and reduces vapors, foam and potential tank evaporation.

Stainless Steel Fuel LinesSome municipalities require the use of stainless steel fuel lines instead of the standard hoses provided with the diesel generator products. These stainless steel lines are fire resistant for additional safety.

6510 E-Stop E-stop allows for immediate fuel shutoff and generator shutdown in the event of and emergency.

6511 Spill Box Drainback Kit The spill box drainback kit allows fuel that was captured in the 5-gallon spill box to be drained directly back into the fuel tank to avoid vapors.

6512 Lockable Fuel Cap The cast iron, lockable fuel cap provides the ability to lock the fuel system to prevent unwanted fuel tampering or fuel siphoning.

The PMM Starter Kit consists of a 24 VAC, field installed transformer that enables the use of the 24 VAC Power Management Modules (PMMs) and one PMM. The standard controller (without starter kit) can control two HVAC loads with no additional hardware. Not compatible with pre-wired switches.

6186 Power Management Module (50 Amps)

Power Management Modules are used in conjunction with the Smart Switch to increase its power management capabilities. It gives the Smart Switch additional power management flexibility not found in any other transfer switch. Not compatible with pre-wired switches. Note: PMM Starter Kit required.

6588 Vent Extension Support Kit

The Vent extension support kit consists of 2 aluminum plates with the appropriate pipe cutouts to secure the bent extension pipes coming through the top of the generatorenclosure. It helps to minimize stress on the NPT fittings integrated on the tank and also helps protect against pests.

n MUST USE A CERTIFIED GENERAC WARRANTY DEALER TO DO ANY AND ALL WARRANTY WORK ON THESE UNITS. A technician will be required to go through certification training prior to being able to file a warranty claim for diesel product.

n This product is currently NOT compatible with Mobile Link™.

n Extended warranties are currently NOT available for these units.

n These units will not ship with a battery. Battery requirements are Group 27F, 700 CCA for 15kW – 50kW.

n If you must connect your diesel generator to a day tank it is possible. THIS WILL VOID YOUR WARRANTY and Generac will not support the connection to a day tank.

n These are standby only, and will not have a limited prime rating.

n These units are NOT LIFE SAFETY RATED.

n These units CANNOT run on heating oil.

n MUST GET LOCAL FIRE MARSHAL’S APPROVAL BEFORE INSTALLATION. Fire Marshal is required for Diesel generator installations with tanks. Diesel cannot be added to the tank without approval and or witness by the fire marshal. It is also important to check with all other local, regional, and/or state codes that are required for installation. If diesel is added to the tank without the proper authority’s approval, the unit can be flagged for hazardous material. This will result in an expensive removal process that the customer will be responsible for.
