ECDIS Ltd is based in Whiteley, along the south coast of the UK near Fareham, Hampshire, making it easily accessible to mariners, whether based locally or needing to travel and stay in one of the nearby hotels. The aim of ECDIS Ltd is to provide a meeting and training facility for the use of the maritime industry.

Since opening in 2008 ECDIS Ltd has doubled in size every year and is now established as one of the world’s most respected, endorsed independent training companies offering over 36 training courses. SHIP SECURITY OFFICER COURSE

Course Title: Ship Security Officer Course

Duration 2 Days

Course DescriptionThis IMO model course is intended to provide knowledge to those who may be designated to perform the duties andresponsibilities of a Ship Security Officer (SSO). This course meets the Ship Security Officer Course requirements ofSTCW code, IMO Model course 3.19 and the ISPS Code.

PrerequisitesNo specific entry requirements are contemplated. However, to obtain a certificate of proficiency as Ship Security Officer, the trainee shall have obtained approved seagoing service as mentioned in STCW Regulation VI/5 as amended.

SHIP SAFETY OFFICER COURSE

Course Title: Ship Safety Officer Course

Duration 3 Days


Course DescriptionThis course is suitable for seafarers who are about to serve, or are already serving as either a safety representative or a safety officer. This training is intended to meet the requirements set out in the IMO Model course 3.11 andthe Code of Safe Working Practice for Merchant Seafarers (CoSWP). This course addresses both accident prevention and accident investigation.

Entry RequirmentsMinimum age of 18 years and must have a minimum of 12 months seatime.

BASIC SHIP HANDLING TECHNIQUES

Course DescriptionThe most basic thing to be understood in ship handling is to know and anticipate how a ship behaves under allcircumstances and what orders should be given in order to make the ship behave and move exactly the way you want it to. This course aims to help to improve safety at sea by providing participants with theoretical knowledge and hands on simulator training for the safe operation of ships in confined and coastal waters and during berth-ing and unberthing operations in a variety of weather and seaconditions.

This training is intended for deck officers before they are required to manoeuvre and handle ships. The aim is toenable participants to develop their skills and understanding of the principles and practices of ship handling.

Course Title: Minimum Industry Safety Training (MIST) OPITO Approved

Duration 2 Days



Course DescriptionThis two day OPITO approved training course, is designed to introduce the fundamental safety elements of theoffshore oil and gas industry. Delegates will gain an understanding and an appreciation of potential hazards, how to control and minimise such hazards and how to measure the risks involved.

NEBOSH COURSE

Course Title: NEBOSH International Technical Certificate in Oil and Gas Operational Safety

Duration 14 Days



Who is the course for?This qualification is designed for those who are working in the oil and gas, petrochemical industry and for those who are in a position of safety and responsibility, such as managers, supervisors, employee representatives and newly appointed health and safety advisors.

Course ContentThe two week scheduled course designed for NEBOSH studying, consists of week 1 as guided learning with theinstructor; week 2 is a recommended private study week of 20 hours self study with the exam held on the Friday. The content of the course focuses on the international standards, safety management systems and safety responsibilities, for the workplace both onshore and offshore in the oil and gas industry.
