Compact Memory Stick & SD Card

Memory Stick and SD Card storage media is tiny, lightweight and comes in a range of

capacities. On some models it’s the main media for recording, while on others it’s a back-up

when capacity is running low. Record standard MPEG/2 or AVCHD formats for playback on

everything from BRAVIA televisions to PlayStation®3. For added convenience, 2010

Cyber-shot models are now also compatible with both Memory Stick and SD Cards.

Built-in Hard Disk Drive

An internal Hard Disk Drive (HDD) means there’s no need to carry around tapes or DVDs. It also

gives you super-long recording times, so you can keep shooting for up to two days straight. To

shoot even longer, just switch modes and record on an optional Memory Stick or SD Card.

Easy DVD

Record straight to DVD, then simply eject and play on a DVD player. No transferring

or connecting wires, just instant home movies directly on DVD-R, -RW, +RW or +R DL.

Face Detection and Smile ShutterThe extremely useful Face Detection and Smile Shutter features are a great help especially at weddings, birthday parties, and other large gatherings. You can prioritise a person so that it automatically optimises focus, exposure, and colour for the best results. On top of that, Smile Shutter also detects and captures snapshots of smiling faces even when you are recording a video. With these 2 intelligent features, you won’t miss any special moments again!

By simply pressing the blue button marked EASY on Handycam camcorders, capturing and playing back precious moments really is easier. Easy Handycam Mode ensures all settings are automated and the most important icons are enlarged for ease-of-use, all you need to do is remember to press record.

Highlight Playback Direct Copy and PlaybackInstantly view an edited movie clip, complete with transitional effects and background music of your choice, with Highlight Playback. Some people take a lot of videos and often have to back them up so they don’t lose them. With Direct Copy, you can simply connect your Handycam to an external hard disk via a USB adapter and you’re done! Furthermore, you can still use various playback modes such as Visual Index, Date Index, or even Highlight Playback to view the videos stored in your newly-created video library.
