Where Learning Is Sweet!
The Stampede has had a wonderful start to this school year! We would like
to thank our PTA for serving our annual Tears and Cheers breakfast the first
day of school. We had lots of families stay to learn about ways they can help
volunteer. A great time was had by all.
We have enjoyed having our parents walk their children to class the last few
mornings. As a reminder Wednesday is the last day parents can do this. Be-
ginning Thursday morning students who arrive between 8:00a.m. –8:10a.m.
will need to head to the gym. At the 8:10 bell all students will be escorted
from the gym to their classrooms by one of their grade level teachers. Any
students arriving after 8:10a.m. will go directly to their classrooms.
If you are dropping students off or picking them up in the car rider line
please refrain from pulling out of line to drive around. This is very dangerous
for our students and staff. Please be patient we will move the line of cars as
quickly and as safely as possible.
We would like to invite all parents to attend our annual Parent Curriculum
Night next Tuesday, August 30th. This is a chance for teachers to explain the
ins and outs of their particular grade level and curriculum expectations. For
your convenience there will be two identical sessions . Session 1 will be
5:00—5:45p.m and Session 2 will be 6:00—6:45p.m. Both sessions will take
place in your child’s classroom. Our teachers have a lot of information to
pass on to you in a very short amount of time. We are requesting no chil-
dren attend the Parent Curriculum Night. Thank you!

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FROM THE REGISTRAR: All parents/guardians received an email on August 8 with their SNAPCODE. INFOSNAP
is our new electronic student record system.
This electronic, online process will replace the First Day Packet where many various
forms had to be filled out manually and returned to the campus. With INFOSNAP, you
will be able to update all of your child’s information in one spot and electronically review
and sign all documentation. All parents will be updating their student’s information, yearly,
using InfoSnap. All parents/guardians must complete this process for their student by Au-
gust 22 (the first day of school).
If you have any questions or did not receive your snapcode, please email:
WELCOME LETTER FROM THE PTA PRESIDENT
Welcome to what I know will be the greatest year for Stanley Elementary School ever!
I’m happy to serve as your new PTA President for the 2016‐2017 year. As a former teacher, I
remember the excitement of that first day when students return, kindergartners start their first
year (with tearful mamas in the hallways—Hey! I’ll be one this year), fi h graders begin their
last year (also with tearful mamas) and there’s also that excitement of seeing who is in your
class, mee ng all the new personali es and ge ng the dynamics of the classrooms “set”.
WOW! It’s a lot for the first day!
I look forward to having a wonderful, workable, easy rela onship between the PTA volunteers,
the teachers and the community as a whole. I hope to see our membership increase with all
the wonderful benefits offered along with our volunteer hours mul plying. I am hopeful we
find more ways to ease the burdens of our amazing teachers and to support them in their
classrooms with their needs. I am even more hopeful that we can raise funds to pass on and
have fun with each other doing that! I look forward to encouraging those who have not been
involved in the PTA in previous years to become involved and invest in their children’s future
and that we, as a group, can present a posi ve picture to the Katy ISD community. I also hope
that we can find the most efficient ways to do all those things. I realize we are all busy, busy,
busy but I do hope to see new faces volunteering and we, as a PTA community, flourish in
succeeding these goals.
Please join me in all our efforts for this year. Let me know if you have ideas for projects or
sugges ons that would make the PTA even more successful. Don’t forget that we have our first
ever Family Fun Run & Block Party on October 21st. Please check our calendar to be included
in all the rest of our upcoming fun events.
Thank you for inves ng in me to serve as the PTA President.
