Dear Bishops, Branch Presidents and stake members; (each household should be given a copy of this letter) We are pleased to announce our 2015 Stake Temple Day on Saturday May 23, and invite each member to continue your preparations to make this an inspiring and fulfilling day for you and your family! We will organize this day such that wards/branches, families and individual members can participate together or individually to perform ordinances for your ancestors as you feel inspired. We invite every active member to have a current recommend, and To work with your priesthood or Relief Society leader to identify and help a new or returning member on their path to the temple. We also invite each member age 12 and older to set a goal to have 2or more family file names ready before May 23 rd . To avoid overloading the temple office on the 23rd, please get a copy of your family ordinance request forms to the temple office in person or email a .pdf to ([email protected] ) or Fax it (502-241- 3114) - in advance of this day, so the cards can be printed and ready for you in the foyer credenza on the 23 rd . For help with finding family names and sending ordinance request forms to the temple, please contact your high priest group leader. By doing this we will have the opportunity to perform more than 2000 ordinances for our ancestors during this temple day. Temple Day Schedule: Baptistry: Will be open from 11am to 5pm, such that stake members can come in and help perform baptisms and confirmations for your family names. Some wards will have an assigned block that they will staff, and has the option to organize for youth, new and returning members and families to gather during that block. But also be prepared to assist individuals and families from any ward who may bring their own names. 11-1pm GG/SW/CB . 1-3pm ET/RC . 3-5pm L6/L5/SH . The first unit listed in each block please take the lead in organizing the staffing, having 8 brethren and 3 sisters to assist. L2/L3 members are invited to attend the baptistry any time from 1-5pm Initiatory & Sealings: 4-6:30pm. Walk-in and see if space is available. Be flexible. Endowment sessions: attend any normal Saturday session 8:30, 10:00, 11:30 a.m.; 1:00, 2:30, 4:00 p.m. The Stake will staff one additional session (Lou stake only) at 5:30pm. Childcare will be provided from 3:30 to 7:30pm for those who would otherwise be unable to attend the temple. “Our vision is embodied in Micah 4:1 that “In the last days…the house of the Lord shall be established…and people shall flow unto it” We testify that as we focus on our personal relationship with Christ through temple worship, that we will have great power to invite those to whom we minister to experience the joy of the temple as well. This year, we have a vision that 300 people from the stake will attend the temple for the first time or after a long absence. Included in this vision is a goal that every new member of the church will attend the temple to do baptisms within a short time of their own baptism.We look forward to being in the temple with you often, and specifically on May 23 rd .
