Principal’s report
Stage 3 excursion
It was my great pleasure to accompany the Stage 3
students on their excursion last week. Having done this
excursion many, many times I still thoroughly enjoy
seeing the amazement and great excitement of the
children. The group had a fabulous time, and are to
commended on their impeccable behavior. In fact a
member of the public came up to me during the night
time show and complimented our students as being
beautifully behaved. Well done everyone! Huge thank
you to Mr Baldock and Mrs Fitzgerald who assisted
with supervision, and to Bec Wooden for her wonderful
assistance during the trip. Lots more pictures later in
this newsletter.
Members of 5/6B with Mr B & Mrs Fitzgerald prepare to
enter the Deborah mine in Bendigo.
Student Reports
Teachers are currently extremely busy completing final
assessments and preparing the Semester Two reports.
Reports will be sent home during Week 9 and parents
are most welcome to make an appointment to discuss
them with their child’s teacher. Well done to all of our
students who have all made wonderful personal
progress and had put in such effort and dedication to
their learning throughout the year. Once again our
reports will reflect student achievements as well as
future learning goals.
Thank you GEO!
On Monday our school captains, Cooper Wright and
Madeleine Cameron travelled with me to Laurie Daley
Oval. Here, members of the GEO group made a
presentation to all of the local primary schools of an
amazing array of sporting equipment. We are
extremely grateful to the GEO group for their
generosity and will certainly be putting the gear to
good use!
Cooper and Madeleine show their appreciation to GEO
General Manager, Scott Brideoake.
Christmas on Broadway
This Saturday don’t forget that Christmas on Broadway
celebrations will be happening. This year instead of just
our choir performing, we have invited all of our
students to come along and participate in the carol
singing! Students have been practising the songs
throughout the past few weeks in their classrooms. I
do hope that we can have lots of Junee North children
joining in. Students are to wear Christmas clothing and
meet Mrs Davis at 4: 15 near the stage.

2018 school captains
Next Wednesday 29 November we will be hearing from
our 2018 school captain nominees. The Year 5 students
have been busily preparing their speeches and will no
doubt be nervously awaiting presenting them to our
audience. We certainly have a wonderful group to
select from. Speeches will commence at 2:30 pm in the
hall, followed by voting by students. Our captains will
be announced at Presentation Night. All nominees are
expected to attend and be in correct school uniform.
Parents and family members are most welcome to
come along and support their candidates!
Presentation Evening
Our very special award ceremony will be held on
Thursday 7 December at the Junee High MPC,
commencing at 6:30 pm. This is a chance for our
students to be recognised for their efforts,
contributions and achievements throughout the year.
We have made some slight changes to our policy for
this year (available on our school website) with regards
to some of our awards. This will be reviewed again next
year. All students are expected to attend on the night
and must be in correct school uniform (no sport shorts
or shirts). Students need to arrive by 6:15 pm at the
latest. Students are expected to be seated with their
class. We hope to see lots of family members there to
help us celebrate the end of another year of wonderful
learning.

What’s happening at our school?
Stage 3 Ballarat Excursion – awesome!
The Stage 3 excursion involved a trip down the
Deborah Mine and on a talking tram at Bendigo. This
was followed by a day in Ballarat where they
experienced the Museum of Australian Democracy, a
fantastic day at Sovereign Hill, then the amazing
“Blood on the Southern Cross” sound and light show.
Our final day we headed to Echuca for a historical tour
and a most enjoyable ride down the Murray River on a
paddle steamer. What a wonderful time!
Here are some student reactions:
Sovereign Hill was amazing and the light show was
spectacular. There was an amazing variety of things to
see and do. I will definitely be going there again soon!
Madeleine Cameron
It was one of the best excursions I have ever been on –
so exciting!
Maggie Hawke
On the excursion my favourite thing was going to
Sovereign Hill because there were lots of activities –
and the pies were good as well!
Bailey Willis
I enjoyed going to Sovereign Hill because there was so
much to do. I liked when we went panning for gold
because I found heaps!
Jaidyn Vanzanten
I liked Sovereign Hill. It was beautifully restored to look
like the olden days.
Zoe Fitzhardinge
The bit I loved about going to Ballarat was Sovereign
Hill. I loved how they used to dress up and all the old
shops. It was the best excursion ever!
