Draw 3 important events that happened in the story, In the correct order:

beginning, middle, end.

Write a descriptive paragraph about someone in your family. Read it to your family and see if they can guess who you wrote

about.

Draw a friends of 10 rainbow (two numbers that add together to make

10).

Extension: try making a friends of 20 or 30 rainbow.

Draw a picture of your favourite mini-beast. Make sure you label and colour in your art work.

Draw and describe one of the characters from the

story.

Write your teacher a letter telling them about what you’ve been doing at home (remember your WOW!

words)

Use your hand to measure the length of 3 objects from around your home. Order the objects from the shortest to

the longest.

Help someone in your family pre-pare a yummy snack or food and send your teacher a photo on see-

saw or via email.

Tell a family member about the story and describe whether you liked/disliked it and why.

Draw a picture of yourself. Write adjectives around the picture to describe your appearance and

personality e.g. smart, happy, brave.

Use the number of the day sheet to create your own num-ber of the day and then write down 10 ways to

make your num-ber.

Using Google Earth, locate the local community and write down some visible

features.

How many of your spelling words could you find in the

story? Make a list..

Write a set of instructions for how to make your favourite sandwich. Take pictures if you can so your teacher can see how yummy it is.

Go outside and count how many birds and insects you can find. Record them using

tally marks.

Go outside and play for 30 minutes and practice kicking,

throwing and catching a ball with yourself or your family.

Write a new blurb for your sto-ry. Remember a blurb is a short paragraph about what happens in the story but doesn’t tell you

everything.

Type your spelling words on the computer or iPad.

Find everyday objects around your home in the shape of a circle, triangle, rectangle, trapezium and a hexagon.

Take a picture or draw the objects.

Choose your favourite Mini Beast and describe it's features. Present your description to someone in your family.

Draw a picture or a map of the setting of your story (where

the story took place).

Write someone in your family a letter telling them what your fa-vourite memory with them is and why. (Remember your WOW!

words)

Draw a picture to show what a cube, pyramid and cylinder would like if you cut it in

half.

Practice singing the long version of our National

Anthem. You can find this version on YouTube.

Tell a family member about the main character in the story. What do they look like? What are they wearing? What is their per-

sonality?

Write a paragraph about your favourite place to visit and why and draw a picture.

Design and draw your own park. Remember to include different types of natural and man made features. Discuss the differences of these features with your family.

Create a new front cover for your story. You can draw it, make it out of pictures from magazines or newspapers or make it on the

computer/iPad.

Write 3 silly sentences using your spelling words. Try and use 2 spelling words in each silly

sen-tence.

Find 3 things in your house that are smaller than your hand and write them down. Then find 3 things that are bigger and

write them down.

Go outside and play for 30 minutes and practice jumping with two feet and

hopping on one leg. Create an obstacle course and see how fast you can

complete it.
