Directors and teachers of your children. All staff are looking
forward to meeting the “parents behind the students they
teach.” (In the event of rain, the event will be moved to the
Multipurpose Hall).
Mentorship Moment
I was excited to take over my Leadership portfolio as Head of
Mentorship for 2019/2020 with the slogan “Real relationships
matter”. One of my goals for 2020 is to create long-lasting
relationships among all the students at Dainfern College, but
particularly to encourage and facilitate relationships between
the Grade 8s and Grade 11s.
On 21 January, the Grade 11 mentors and their Grade 8
mentees spent an exciting morning playing “Minute To Win It”
games in the Multipurpose Hall. These games consisted of
egg-and-spoon races, bottle flipping, and a balloon game.
This was a fun-filled way for the Grade 11s to get to know the
Grade 8s a bit better. There were loads of laughs and the
school spirit was exceptionally high. The Grade 11s had the
opportunity to lead Kraken, Griffin and Phoenix in a war cry.
The Mentorship team is looking forward to a year filled with
these special ‘Mentorship Moments’.

Dramatic Arts studies as Mrs Kelsey-Lynne
Oosthuizen goes on maternity leave. Miss
Salgado will be heavily involved in the Major
Production this term.

her excellent achievement in these
examinations.
We would like to wish our A level students every success in the
upcoming year as they work towards attaining their A level
qualifications at the end of this year.
We would also like to welcome our new 2020 AS Cambridge
class (pictured above with Physics teacher Mrs Anita Hewitt),
who have started off the year with great enthusiasm and
energy. We look forward to their continued progress throughout
