Stability is guaranteed if we walk the way God

wants us to walk


LORD, who may dwell in your sacred tent? Who may live on your holy mountain? The one whose walk is blameless, who does what is righteous,


who speaks the truth from their heart; whose tongue utters no slander, who does no wrong to a neighbor, and casts no slur on others;


who despises a vile person but honors those who fear the LORD; who keeps an oath even when it hurts, and does not change their mind;


who lends money to the poor without interest; who does not accept a bribe against the innocent. Whoever does these things will never be shaken.

(Psalm 15:1-5)


Verse 3“whose tongue utters no slander, who does no wrong to a neighbor, and casts no slur on others.”


Slander is a backbiter who privately, secretly, behind a man's back speaks evil of him, devours and destroys his credit and reputation:

Rom 1:30 slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents;

1Timothy 5:13 Besides, they get into the habit of being idle and going about from house to house. And not only do they become idlers, but also busybodies who talk nonsense, saying things they ought not to.


“who does no wrong to a neighbor…”

to any man whatever, good or bad, friend or foe, whether in a natural, civil, or spiritual relation, either by words or deeds, to his person, property, or good name;


Romans 12:17 Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone.


Romans 13:10 Love does no harm to a neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.


3John 1:11 Dear friend, do not imitate what is evil but what is good. Anyone who does what is good is from God. Anyone who does what is evil has not seen God.

and clear his character.

Life Lesson

Ephesians 4:25-32 Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to your neighbor, for we are all members of one body. 26 "In your anger do not sin": Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, 27 and do not give the devil a foothold. 28 Anyone who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with their own hands, that they may have something to share with those in need.

29 Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. 30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. 31 Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. 32 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.
