Parish Mission Statement: St. Vincent de Paul Par-ish is a Christian community dedicated to proclaim-ing the Gospel of Jesus Christ as taught by the Ro-man Catholic Church through word, sacrament, and service.

Parish Vision Statement: St. Vincent de Paul Parish is called by its Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to serve his people through living the message of the Gospel, giving service to the poor, comforting the suffering, and providing strength through the Sacraments of the Roman Catholic Church. We strive always to meet the needs of the broader community through a variety of ministries which reach out through our par-ish family to those with whom we live, work, and play. As disciples of Jesus Christ we seek to establish and maintain a lifelong and vital relationship with him so as to grow each day in knowing, loving, and serving the Lord and one another.

Sharing Christ’s Love

It was suggested that it might be nice for parish-

ioners to send cards to those in extended care fa-

cilities, who are restricted in the visitors they can

receive. If you get a chance, drop a card in the

mail with a kind word to someone you know who’d

appreciate it.

If you know of someone who could use some

sharing of Christ’s love, contact the parish office

for inclusion in next week’s bulletin. Make sure

you have permission from the individual or a fami-

ly member.

A Step Toward Normal

Our parish offices are once again staffed! The

business office will be closed on Fridays, and

Deacon Todd will still take Monday as his day off.

If you have business that necessitates that you

come in person, please call ahead and we will be

sure to greet you with a mask on. We ask that you

wear one, too, and use the hand sanitizer availa-

ble. We’ll work with you to maintain as much of a

safe distance between us as possible.

EIGHTEENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME

Rylan Has Joined Us at the Table!

On Wednesday this past week Rylan Smith was

Confirmed and received Eucharist for the first

time. We wish him many blessings and congratu-

lations!

Aug 15—Assumption of the Blessed Virgin

This Holy Day falls on a Saturday this year, so

we are dispensed of the obligation to attend

Mass. However, since it is our diocesan patronal

feast, a Holy Day Mass will be celebrated and

live-streamed from the Cathedral at 8am.

The Traveling Chalice

If you would like to host the Traveling Chalice for

Vocations, call the office or email Deacon Todd

to be assigned a week. A printed prayer guide

accompanies the Chalice to aid you.

Mark Your August Calendar Now!

There is a Red Cross Blood Drive scheduled at

St. Vincent de Paul Parish Hall on Thursday, Au-

gust 27. Our goal is 30 units so we need your

help! Walk in noon to 5:45pm, or call for an ap-

pointment 1-800-733-2767 (code: St Vincent).

Christmas Outreach Will Still Go On

Christmas Outreach will change to adapt to the

corona virus, and will continue to give Christmas

stockings to children and gift bags to teens. Lots

of school supplies are needed for them. Stores

are having their back-to-school sales now. We

need crayons (24 pack), glue sticks, erasers, rul-

ers, pencils, pens, spiral notebooks, notepads,

scissors, colored pencils, highlighters, mechani-

cal pencils, markers, and more. A box will be un-

der the coat rack in the gathering space. Thanks!
