Here is a message from his family: “While my dad Michael was on the holiday of his dreams, motorcycling with friends across America, he was pushed into a near head on collision by a truck driver, who fled the scene and left my dad fighting for his life on the side of the road. A completely innocent, 60 year old devoted family man and retired police officer had the holiday of a life time tragically cut short. After multiple surgeries to save his life he is pulling through but will never be the same again. They have removed his spleen, compromising his immunity and he has had to have his lower leg amputated. Nobody deserves this, especially not a man who dedicated his life to protecting the community” As a parish community please help raise money to get him the best prosthetics and care so that he can begin his rehabilitation. THANK YOU X Message for Bishop Alan BEREAVEMENT – FR JAMES HAWES It is with deep regret that I have to inform you that Fr James Hawes died suddenly this morning in his parish at Epping.

“God is so merciful towards us. We too should learn to be merciful…” - Pope Francis

But what if you decided to become even more merciful?

Pray for Mercy. Pray to become more merciful. Pray also for family members, friends, neighbours, co-workers, and people you know who are in need of mercy. Pray for people around the world who are suffering. Pray that everyone in the world will respond to God’s mercy and , in turn, be merciful to one another.

How will you pray for mercy, and for whom will you pray?Jesus said, “Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy” (Mt 5:7). Our efforts to become more merciful will not only change the people around us, they will change us as become ever kinder and ore compassionate.
