Students will be testing in grades 28, MondayThursday. Please do not schedule any appointments during this week. Students need a good night’s sleep and a healthy breakfast to give them a good start in the mornings. Also, please make sure that they have a couple of No. 2 pencils that are sharpened. Due to testing next week, I will be helping with testing students, so if you do not get a response quickly from me with any questions or concerns, I will get back to you as soon as I can. Our new Corporal and Spiritual Work of Mercy for the month is “Counsel the Doubtful”. The students really impressed me with their projects last month on clothing the naked. They took the Work of Mercy to a deeper level. We are also collecting gently used clothing for Schoola. When you donate clothes to Schoola, St. Simon’s receives money for the school. A huge thank you to the group of parents who donated lunch for the faculty meeting today! Your generosity is overwhelming. Also, another huge thank you goes to those who have donated items to fill the WISH FISH. We still have a list in the newsletter if you decide that you would still like to donate. St. Simon’s is truly blessed by our families in lots of ways. Thank you for all you do to help build our community. Backpack Buddies Program  Thank you for supporting our Backpack Buddies program which supports 3550 kids in the Hancock School District. These children receive free breakfast and lunches through Hancock. Evening and weekends food is very sparse, if there is any at all. Our backpack donations have allowed them to have food during times when they normally would not. Our 7th and 8th grade students hand deliver the food weekly to Hancock. To hear their testimonials warms your heart and opens your eyes to what a powerful program this is. All grades will participate in the packing of the backpacks each week. It is incredible to see some of the kids carefully select what they are packing to make sure their backpack buddy gets the best!  Our first collection of the school year will be Wednesday, September 28. We are asking that each child donate $5 to our Backpack Food Pantry. In donating your child will be allowed to dress down on Wednesday, September 28. Please contact Nicki Wobbe ([email protected]) with any questions or issues regarding the Backpack Buddies Program or call Mrs. Wrablik in the school office at  3148423848, ext. 200.  Your donations are greatly appreciated!!!
