FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK, Dear Parishioners, Please join me in congratulating Rev. Benjamin Butler on his being ordained to the priesthood. Beginning July 1, 2015, Fr. Butler will be at St. Joseph as the Associate Pastor. Welcome to St. Joseph, we are happy to have you here. For the remaining Monday’s in June we will not have a Monday morning Mass due to the reassignment of our diocesan priests. Monday Mass will resume July 6th at 8:00 am. We will no longer have a communion service on Wednesday morning but will continue the Wednesday evening service beginning at 5:00 pm with Adoration, Rosary, Confession, and then Mass at 6:00 pm. The Eucharistic procession last Sunday after the 8:30 Mass on the Solemnity of Corpus Christi was awesome! Upon request from some parishioners I plan to continue this tradition every year. Thank you to those who took time to walk with the Lord throughout our Campus. May God Bless you all. This weekend we will be consecrating our parish to the two hearts; the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary with special prayers after all the Masses. Prayer cards are available in the pew. Jesus promised to bless the homes of those who honored Him by displaying a picture of the two hearts. The blessed pictures are free and are avail-able for you to take and put on display in your homes. I invite everyone to commit your homes to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Please join us the weekend of June 20, 2015 to hear Rev. Thomas J. Singer, O.M.I. speak at all the services about a ministry providing direct relief to the poor throughout Latin America and the Caribbean. Father Tom Singer will share personal witness about Food For The Poor’s mission to care for the destitute as a means of living out the Gospel man-date to love one another.

Fr. Singer was ordained in 1957 for the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate, United States Province. He has served as the Oblate Director and General Councilor for the U.S. Region in Rome before joining Food For The Poor.

Please join me in welcoming Father Tom Singer. Yours in Christ,

Fr. Tomy

Our Vision Our vision is to create a living, loving, vibrant, and Eucharistic community of God’s People.

Our Mission Our Mission is to deepen our personal and communal relationship with Jesus Christ in the context of our Catholic Christian faith

tradition. It is our intention to do this by actively promoting and developing the spiritual, the educational, the formational, the communal service and justice components of our parish.

Our Values Love God above all else; Love neighbor as yourself; Jesus is our Savior; All life is Sacred; We are the body of Christ

(Unity with one another).

SCRIPTURE STUDY WALKING TOWARD ETERNITY: ENGAGING THE STRUGGLES OF YOUR HEART by Jeff and Emily Cavins is the new Scripture Study for Sunday mornings. During the month of May/June the obstacle to be addressed is ANGER. This series is de-signed to help you with your walk of faith more fully by en-countering Christ in prayer through a DIVINE READING (Lectio Divina-of which Pope Francis has spoken). Some of the references from Scripture and the Catechism of the Cath-olic Church (CCC) for the month of May/June are: Mark 7:20-23 CCC 2302 James 1:19-21 CCC 1772-1774

Ephesians 4:26-27; 31-32 CCC 798-801 Sirach 28:1-12 CCC 736, 1832

“It is better not to allow anger, however just and reasonable, to enter at all, than to admit it in ever so slight a degree; once admitted, it will not be easily expelled, for, though at first but a small plant, it will immediately grow into a large tree.” -St. Augustine Cost: $16.00 Register: Call Cecilia Halpin 615-868-9480 or Clair Ivanov 615-865-1558

LIGHTHOUSE CATHOLIC MEDIA: This month we continue to offer The Holy Eucharist as we celebrate the Solemnity of The Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ. Also, in the CD: PURE FATHERHOOD Devin Schadt shows how to become a father on earth like the Father in heaven. Again, we have a special promotion from the Augustine Institute that offers one episode in the 12-part DVD SET: BELOVED: Finding Happiness in Marriage. This presentation addresses how spouse's can be a total gift of self, which is at the heart of the daily married life. Continue to watch for additional titles. STEPHEN MINISTRY: Let Me Care for You!

Those words can bring a sigh of relief to people going through difficult times in life. A Stephen Minister is willing and able to care for you by listening and being there while you work through this tough time. If this is the kind of care for you, call Desiree Alford at 615-568-3378. (Please do not report a friend's need without first asking his or her permis-sion to do so.)
