JUNE

19th TWELFTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME

20th Monday, The Irish Martyrs 21st Tuesday, St Aloysius Gonzaga SJ 22nd Wednesday, Ss John Fisher and Thomas More 24th Friday, The Nativity of St John the Baptist

Jesus message to St Margaret Mary: “My Sacred Heart is so intense in its love for men, and for you in particular, that not being able to contain within it the flames of its ardent charity, they must be transmitted through all means.”

A QUESTION

Jesus asks the question: ‘Who do the crowds say I am?’ St Paul told the Galatians, being ‘baptised in Christ you have put on Christ.’ To me personally, Jesus asks, ‘who do YOU say that I am?’ My answer?

MARTYRS This week we remember so many people who died for Christ. Seventeen Irishmen and women were martyred for the faith between 1579 and 1654. St Aloysius Gonzaga died nursing the sick. John Fisher and Thomas More were hanged in London. John the Baptist was beheaded. Jesus says, ‘Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.’
