Nave (Sanctuary)

• Recognizable as sacred space or worship space set apart for this purpose

• Seating for 450 but able to accommodate both large and small gatherings (present attendance varies from 40 to 180)

• Baptismal font occupies a prominent position, possibly at the entrance to the nave.

• Accommodations for families with young children, easy entrance and exit, proximity to action, facilities for crying babies.

• Effective sight lines from every seat to all liturgical centers.

• Wheelchair space distributed through out the room• Separate from narthex, both acoustically and

attitudinally.
