I hope everyone is enjoying this very busy, but wonderful time of year. I

am looking forward to the Christmas Concert next week, as I walk the

• KIDS CHRISTMAS COOKIE DECORATING PARTY ON DEC. 20 FOR K-5

Visit the Online Auction to sign up your K-5th grade child(ren) for a Christmas Cookie Decorating Party hosted

by Amber Kimmel of 2 Cute 2 Eat Organic Sugar Cookies. Each child will make an apron, learn frosting and

decorating techniques and bring home eight (8) cookies each.

$30 per person; Open to 30 children in grades K-5; Tuesday, December 20, 2016 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.

Box Tops

• Please send in your BoxTops for the December challenge! Students in classrooms that collect 10 BoxTops per

student will be awarded one free ticket for the auction basket raffle! BoxTops must be turned in to teachers

by December 23. Boxtops can be affixed to attached flyer.

Called to Serve

• St. Paul Youth Ministry will be hosting a Called to Serve Workshop for High School Students Sunday, January 8th

from 6:30-9:30pm in the Canfield Center. Called to Serve is the high school equivalent of Protecting God’s

Children for all 9th-12th graders. Do you have any other teens working on school related projects, tutoring,

mentor programs, etc. that would need this training?

Christmas Concert

• Our annual St. Paul Christmas concert this year will feature all students in Young Fives through 8th grade. It will

be held at 7:00 PM on Thursday, December 15th in the gym. Students should arrive to their homeroom

classrooms between 6:30-6:40 PM, wearing their Sunday best. We look forward to celebrating this joyous

season with you then!

Forensics Update:

• The 7th and 8th Grade Forensic competition is tomorrow: Saturday, December 10th at St. Thecla. Team

members must arrive by 8:00 sharp. Lunch will be provided and awards will begin at approximately 12:30.

“Walk In The Light” A Christmas Cantata tomorrow: Saturday, December 10th at 7 Pm at St. Paul Church.

Holy Yoga

• ANNOUNCING THE NEW JUNIOR HIGH ARA HOLY YOGA FORMAT FOR WEDNESDAYS!

• Our incredible Holy Yoga ARA elective for junior high students begins next Wednesday! The format has a slight

change. We will start with yoga, finish with a short bible verse and prayer, and then EAT lunch. You do not

need a change of clothes if you have shorts under your uniform. We will keep it light and refreshing, so you

can move and breathe to reset your day. Grab a friend and join us on Wednesdays for ARA on the gym

stage. If you have not already registered but would like to, simply contact Mrs. Kuchta

([email protected]) or Mrs. Williamson ([email protected]).

• Looking for a Christmas story to read together before bedtime? Look no further than our library website,

• The School Committee is an advisory body of parents who volunteer to meet monthly with the principal and

also have additional standing committee meetings as needed on Faith Formation, Marketing, Curriculum and

Technology, Facilities, Handbook, and Finance. There can be additional ad hoc committees as special issues

arise such as web site design. Committees can include interested parents besides School Committee

members. There are openings for the School Committee each spring as the members' terms are staggered.

• Each member takes a turn as a liaison for one month during the school year to field any questions parents

may have. The names and phone numbers are also listed in the school handbook as well as the school

directory. Feel free to contact one of us.

Organized groups are needed to visit residents: play cards or board games, organize an activity or just enjoy conversation. Several groups in the past hosted a tea social for the residents. They served tea and cookies, and visited with the elderly. This facility is located on 9 Mile Road in St. Clair Shores.
