Pastoral Scene
Dear Parishioners, We are in unusual times. There are many uncertainties we must face. It might look a little frightening. But there might be another way of looking at our reaction to the coronavirus epidemic. One way we can treat these times is to see it as a way to do penance, and offer up our sufferings to God. This could be a special time to take care of our neighbors, and those suffering in our communities. This could be a time of extraordinary generosity to those who need our help. This could a time to grow in our personal prayer life. Fi-nally, this is a time that we need to put our trust in God, who can get us through any crisis. Please know that all of you are important. We will keep you in our prayers. God bless you, Fr. Haren and the Parish Staff

Spiritual Communion Prayer My dear Lord and Savior. Though I am, but a sinful servant, I approach you with confidence. I am truly sorry for having of-fended you by my sins, because you are infinitely good. I have a great desire to receive You in Holy Communion, and since I can not now be united to you in the Blessed Sacrament, I beseech You most earnestly to come to me at least spiritually and to refresh my soul with the sweetness of your grace. Come my Lord, my God and my all. Come to me and let me never again be separated from you by sin. I wish to become like You. Teach me your blessed ways. Help me with your grace to practice meekness; humility; purity; charity and all the virtues of your sacred heart. Oh, my Jesus! I consecrate to you my heart with all its affections, my soul with all its powers and my body with all its senses. In union with you I will live and labor and suffer to do the heav-enly Father’s will. I will ever by mindful of the presence of my God and strive to be perfect. Bless me in life and in death, that I may praise You forever in heaven. Amen. AM 1260 The Rock’s mission is to provide quality Catholic pro-gramming that is faithful to the teachings of the Church and presented in such a way that inspires conversion of heart and a deepening of faith while building up the local body of Christ. WE PRAY FOR YOU! During this time of uncertainty, we invite you to continue sending us your prayer intentions either by calling us at 216-227-1260, or via email at [email protected]

EIGHTH GRADE
For the past several months our 8th grade students have been working on an interdisciplinary project known as Catapult. Our students worked on this project in several different classrooms, and were tasked with coming up with a business plan. In Social Studies, they learned about the economics of supply and demand, as well as the economics of production cost, In ELA they learned about the essentials of proper business communication, including a business letter, business emails, and even had a presentation on business communication from a local expert. Finally, after learning all about the ins and outs of the business world, students were able to actually create a product in the STREAM Lab. We had an in-house Saint Benedict competition with our students pitching their ideas to several local business leaders, to prepare or stu-dents for the regional competition. On Saturday March 7th Saint Benedict students Chloe Brown, Gabrielle Hemphill, and Jasmine Smoot competed in the Alpha Jump competition at Saint Ignatius High School.. Our team presented their business idea, Pretty Puckers cosmetic line, to a group of local business peo-ple in a mock Shark Tank style competition. Our stu-dents took 3rd place out of 14 local Dioceasn school pre-sent. We are incredibly proud of their efforts!
