pantomime, theater games, skits, and improvisation, including an end-of-camp

Leadership WorkshopFind out how to positively influence and lead your peers with dynamic leadership skills. Under the guidance of Dominican

Student Council and using a hands-on approach, gain the knowledge that future leaders need to know to be successful!

Science QuestDiscover science in a new and exciting way! The cool side of science is yours to tour with

experiments and activites such as leaf printing, airplane flying, and

bubble making.Arts & Crafts

Explore and experiment with a variety of mediums while creating works of art! Several

projects will be completed using materials such as ribbon, paint, wood, and ink.

A Touch of Class

Fashion, style, beauty, social grace, and etiquette are the focus of this activity. Learn how-to’s

and practice them in proper situations, such as a fashion show and a tea party.

Do -“mini” ChefsServe up some fun in the kitchen! Learn basic culinary skills, cake decorating,

and simple recipes as you cook and eat your way through this experience.

Jewels & GemsCharms and crystals and pearls - oh my! Design

and create your own jewelry and accessories in this

beading and jewelry-making class. Learn necessary

techniques, such as bead design, stringing, wire

twisting, and crimping. Express your artistic vision

through beads in an array of shapes and colors

while enhancing your favorite summer ensembles.

Sports & Indoor GamesReady, set, GO! Practice healthy

competition by participating in a

variety of activities. Team building and

physical skills are the focus when playing

capture the flag, scooter races,

kick ball, and more.

Shopping & ShindigsFirst we’re shopping - then, we’re hopping! In this party planning and shopping activity, learn

budgeting skills as you surf the Internet for the best bargains to meet your project budget and

create themed shopping agendas for parties that are unforgettable. Whether you’re a shopping

personal scrapbook pages with your own memories as well as several camp pages to

contribute to the camp scrapbook.

Jazz It UpLearn the latest dance moves along with two routines to be performed at the end of camp.

While focusing on the kinesthetic movement, this dance clinic gives you the opportunity to

learn fun exercises and keep fit.

Math Mania I

Review basic operations involving fractions,

decimals, percents, and integers. Activities are

designed to incorporate math into everyday life. For

students who have completed 4th or 5th grade.

Math Mania IICaught the fever for numbers in Math Mania I? Designed to further math development, this enrichment is for campers who have completed 6th, 7th, or 8th grade.

Sports campsAll sports camps are open to any girl who has completed 4th-8th grade.

All sports camps are staffed by Dominican coaches and team members.

All skill levels welcome!

Softball Camp (June 4-8)

8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.Dominican’s Softball Camp will focus on developing individual skills in

fielding, pitching, hitting and base running. Campers will engage in skill-development drills under the supervision of the Dominican Softball

coaching staff.

Basketball Camp (June 11-15)

8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.Dominican’s Basketball Camp will consist of instruction in the basic

fundamentals of basketball including shooting, passing, and dribbling. Campers will also experience team building concepts under the

supervision of the Dominican basketball coaching staff.

Volleyball Camp (June 18-22)

8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.Dominican’s Volleyball Camp will focus on developing individual skills in serving, passing, setting, spiking, and blocking. Campers will engage in

skill-development drills under the supervision of the Dominican volleyball coaching staff.

Soccer Camp (July 30-August 3)

8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.Dominican’s Soccer Camp will consist of instruction in the

fundamentals and techniques of soccer including shooting and passing under the supervision of the Dominican soccer coaching staff.

Studio Art Camp June 4-8

12:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.Color your world and experience studio art with Ms. Rosalie Abadie,

Dominican’s Master Fine Arts teacher. Learn to draw a portrait, a still life, and a landscape. Create with pencil, charcoal, pastels, and water color.

Beginners and intermediates welcome. Be surprised at what you can do once you learn how to “see.”

“8th Note” Band Camp June 11-15

12:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.Music to your ears - Come out for band! The camp includes small group

instruction, individual instruction, SmartBoard musical activities, and other music technology all under the direction of Ms. Brenda Castillo, Dominican’s

Band and Choir Director. Bring your instruments and experience an enriching musical experience in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.

Lights, Camera, Dominican! Drama Camp June 18-22

12:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.Come play theater games, learn stage directions, perform monologues and skits, and just be creative in a fun atmosphere. Join Ms. Ashleigh Alleman, Dominican’s Spring Musical Vocal Director for this comprehensive theater

workshop. The week culminates with a “vignette performance” of activities from the workshop.

Before you register…All campers are to wear the camp shirt*, pants or shorts of appropriate

length and fit, tennis shoes, and socks.

*Fees for DominiCamp, Specialized Camps, each Sports Camp, and Jumpin’ for Joy include one camp T-shirt that will be distributed on the first

day of camp. Additional shirts are available for $12 each.Ordering details are located on the registration forms.

Please complete one registration form, one signed AUP consent form per camper. Registration forms, AUP consent form, and payment options can

be found on our website: www.stmarysdominican.org under “Summer Programs” on the right sidebar menu.

In order to be considered registered, each camper’s registration form must be submitted and the

$50 non-refundable deposit must be paid. Deposits are due by Friday, April 20.

Parent/Student Consent FormSt. Mary’s Dominican High School has chosen to permit students access to computer andtelecommunication resources to further its educational goals and objectives. Reasonable care hasbeen taken to assure the appropriateness and educational quality of the material available throughthe use of educational soft ware and telecommunications. All use of technology is to be inaccordance with the Mission and Philosophy of St. Mary’s Dominican High School. However,parents and guardians are warned that St. Mary’s Dominican High School does not have totalcontrol of the information on the Internet. Parents or guardians are the primary authoritiesresponsible for the imparting of standards of ethical and legal conduct that their child or wardshould follow.1. All technologyresources, including Network and Internet access are provided to further the legitimate educationalgoals of this school. In keeping with its philosophy and goals, St. Mary’s Dominican High School alsoprovides computing and network resources for the use of students, employees, and others affiliatedwith the school.St. Mary’s Dominican High School has taken reasonable precautions to restrict access to materials whichare inappropriate to our school setting. 4. Users shall fully comply with all licensing and copyright laws regarding soft ware, technology, andprinted materials. No user is allowed to install or download any soft ware without the express writtenpermission of the President or Principal.5. Any student or employee use of the school’s network for personal or financial gain, productendorsement or advertisement, political lobbying, visiting “chat rooms” or for transactions involving thetransfer of money, merchandise, services or even personal home or e-mail addresses or phone numbers is strictly prohibited.6. Students may not access personal e-mail accounts to send or receive electronic mail from any schoolcomputer except to transfer their own legitimate academic work between home and school. Therefore,only student research data or information accessed through a controlled subscription database using the school’s network for legitimate educational purposes may be transferred via e-mail to a student’s personal home computer.7. Vandalism, which includes but is not limited to any attempt to “hack” into the school’s network, anymalicious attempt to harm or destroy any data, hardware, or soft ware, including the uploading or creation of a computer virus or loading unauthorized data or programs on machines, will result in disciplinary action which could include financial remuneration for damage, suspension, dismissal, and other consequences as ap-plicable.8. System accounts are used by the authorized owners for the purposes defined in this policy. Users arenot to share their user identification or passwords with another person. Ultimately, each user isresponsible for all activity under his/her account.9. Teachers will make discretionary decisions that may impact laptops, computers, written documents,calculators, personal notes, audio and video files, and electronic data in the interest of a viable learningenvironment and for legitimate pedagogical purposes.10. Nothing in this policy is intended to preclude the supervised use of the system while under thedirection of a teacher or other approved user acting in conformity with St. Mary’s Dominican High School’s mission, philosophy, policy, or procedures.11. Violations of any of the conditions of use will be cause for disciplinary action.St. Mary’s Dominican High School reserves the right to monitor, review, confiscate, and/or delete allmaterial accessed, created, or transmitted on the network, any PC, laptop, CD, DVD, Ipads, Ipods,USB drive, or any other hand-held technology including but not limited to, cell phones, calculators, andpalm pilots. The school reserves the right to determine, in its sole discretion, whether specific uses oftechnology are appropriate and proper. Violation of any part of this policy is cause for disciplinary and/or legal action such as, but not limited to, revocation of user privileges, suspension or expulsion, and restitution of any monetary expenses incurred either through damage of soft ware or hardware, or through legal or other fees.
