THE ASCENSION OF THE LORD

The flowers on the altar this weekend were donated in honor of the marriage of Mary Mitchell and James Peace.

Please remember in your prayers all the sick and suffering, especially Reid Cowan (nephew of Debbie Mitchell), Margaret Dell, Mary Moses, Rocky Rumsey (cousin of Duane Heatley), and Debbie Troxel. May the compassion of Jesus be present to them.

Please remember in your prayers all the faithful departed, especially Juan Linares, who died last week and was buried at St. Mary’s Cemetery; and Guadalupe Jimenez, mother of Angie Reyes, who died recently and was buried in Corpus Christi. May they know the Lord’s power in fullness of joy.

We welcome into our community of faith the following children who were baptized Saturday morning at St. Anne’s Church: Itzayana Espino, Edgar Garcia, Jazlyn Ariana Jimenez, Benjamin Joseph Juarez, Alan Gael Maldonado, Jeylen Yasmin Mena, Bella

Victoria Perez, Melany Perez, Jimena Antonella Plaza, and Aaron Ramirez. May the waters of baptism bring them into this family of faith and to life eternal with God.

Blessings to James Peace and Mary Mitchell who were united in marriage Saturday evening at St. Mary’s Church. May they shine as witnesses to the love of God and the ways of heaven.

We want to wish a happy anniversary to all couples celebrating a wedding anniversary this week, especially Jim & Kellie Adlof, Daniel & Joanne Gengo, R. C. & Bea Harmon, Donnie & Marina Jarvis, Alan & Barbara Scheibmeir, Jeff & Verna Sharer, and Al & Pat Vrla. May they be a living sign of divine love for the Church.

Knights of Columbus, 3rd Degree, will meet this Thursday, June 6th, at 7:30 p.m. in the KC Hall.

This Friday, June 7th, is First Friday. Adoration will be from 8:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. at St. Mary’s Church.

2019 Knights of Columbus Memorial Golf Tournament -- Honoring Bob Fair Sr. -- will be this Saturday, June 8th, at Tanglewood Golf Course. Registration and sponsorship information may be found at www.shermankcs.com or by calling Bill Martin at 903-893-4500.

St. Mary’s Singles monthly potluck dinner and game night is this Saturday, June 8th, at St. Anne’s Place following the Saturday afternoon Mass. Come join the fun. For more information contact Jo Adams at 903-814-7265 or Jan Lackey at [email protected].

St. Mary’s VBS, “Roar! Life is Wild, God is Good,” will be the week of June 24—28 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. VBS is for children in PreK-3 through 6th grade. Middle school, high school, and adult volunteers are needed for our amazing week of VBS! Email [email protected] to volunteer for VBS.
