Thank you for your generous contributions. This week our actual collections after adjusting for special collections were $(12,504.67) compared to our budget of $37,119.17. “The Lord is our provider, we need to give him understanding, so he may know our decrees.”
Stewardship - A Way of Life
“And ‘to love him with all your heart, with all your understanding, with all your strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself’ is worth more than all the burnt
offerings and sacrifices.” MARK 12:33
Of all the gifts that God gives us the one He wants the most is our heart. He wants us to share out of love, not out of obligation. Using our talent in parish ministry
and contributing money to support our parish mission is important, but it’s more important to spend time in
prayer with God daily and discern how He is calling us to be generous with all of our gifts. Not just the visible
ones, but the invisible ones like love, mercy and forgiveness.

St. Mary’s student athletes,
their parents, and Athletic
Director Ms. Marge Bruns wish
to thank the Greensburg Rotary
Club for their recent donation of
$500. The Rotary Club
organizes and oversees the
parking at the annual “Power of
the Past” event. For several
years now, the club has given St.
Mary’s school the opportunity to
provide parking volunteers for
the Saturday portion of the
event. In return the Rotary Club
donates a portion of their
proceeds to our Athletic
Department. Thank you also to
Ms. Bruns, parents and student

ST. MARY’S PARISH Meeting Agenda Parish Council Tuesday, Oct. 16th 2018 8:00pm Location: Church Small Assembly
Our Mission: To proclaim the Good News and to become the Body of Christ 1. Review/Approval of Sept. Meeting Minutes. 2. Committee Chair Reports – Top discussion Items
a. Finance – Suggested we take the big envelopes for the Tohatchi Mission trip and divide them into smaller amounts to see if this will entice more people to donate to the trip.
The annual report for year-end 6/30/18 has been filed with the Archdiocese. b. Faith Formation – No report as their meeting was in a long session. c. Liturgy- Parishioners are sitting in the usher’s pew during Mass. Megan
suggested we laminate a sign that says the pew is for ushers and hang it on the end of the pew.
d. School Commission – The school bylaws must include a non - discrimination clause. Nancy suggested that we should look into this and see if the parish should also have the same clause in their bylaws. Nancy is writing a grant to help with the cost of updating the former school offices at the northwest corner of the building. Enrollment is growing in the school and she is going to need additional classrooms for Art and Music soon. While updating this area she will also work in an area for STEAM. At this time the robotics club could use the space to prepare for their competitions. Fr. Adam will be offering confession on Tuesdays from lunch through the afternoon for all school students.
e. Youth Council –Sponsoring a turkey raffle for the Tohatchi Mission Trip. Raffle tickets are available now through Sunday October 21st. The drawing will be held on October 21st.
f. Stewardship- Envelopes are being purchased for grades 2-12. The theme will be “Hands Across the World. There is room to put a stewardship message on the back. Linda will develop a letter to go out to all families. There are youtube videos on the website where the envelopes are ordered from that help share the message of stewardship. It was suggested that these may be used to introduce the envelope program to the students.
g. Maintenance- There was discussion about adding an access sidewalk from the south parking lot and also adding handicapped access with a handrail for entrance to the adoration chapel.
3. Discussion of any new business or topics. Youth Envelope Discussion
4. Fr. John’s Report. The confirmation retreat is coming up soon. Pray for the candidates. Confirmation is in
February this year. 5. Next Meeting Date – Nov. 27th

In the Arms of the Angels
November brings us to reflect
on our loved ones that we especially remember on
All Souls Day. In that, we can look back at the gift of
these angels God sent into our lives. A blessed
mother or father, child, sibling or spouse clarify as
supreme gifts to us. Through the still stinging grief,
we can see God’s hand stirring our lives and the
bigger, greater plan that is unfolding. Angels come to
us and it is not an accident. The grief and pain of
losing someone we love lasts forever. You can spin
all aspects of the grief wheel, attend bereavement
groups and try to deal with it. But at the end of the
day, the experience will forever be there, allowing
you to hear God speaking to you as you remember.
“In the arms of the angels, from a place you can’t see. I am looking down and smiling, even though you
can’t see.”
