Anointing of the Sick
THIS Friday, September 6

The celebration of the Sacrament of
Anointing of the Sick is intended for
anyone who is seriously impaired by
sickness, chronic illness, old age,
addictions, or emotional problems and for
those who are about to undergo surgery,
serious medical testing or be admitted to
the hospital. You do not need to receive
the sacrament every month, only when
your medical condition changes
drastically. The Sacrament of Anointing
of the Sick takes place monthly at St.
Mary, Cause of Our Joy. It will be this
Friday, September 6 beginning with
the celebration of the 8:30am Mass.

To make arrangements to celebrate the
sacrament at other times, please contact
our parish office. Patients in hospitals and
residents in nursing homes can be
anointed if they did not celebrate the
sacrament prior to admission. They or
their family members should contact the
institution’s Catholic chaplain to make
similar arrangements, or call the parish
office.

Labor Day and Back to School Greetings and Salutations,
Here is a prayer for Labor Day…Author Unknown
Lord on this Labor Day, we celebrate the work we do, and we
thank You for the blessings of our jobs. We ask for those
seeking employment that You guide them in their search for
work. We ask for guidance when we are confused. We ask for
patience when working through conflicts. We ask for strength
to complete each day. We ask for rest when we are weary. We
ask that You be with those whose faces we might never see but
who work tirelessly each day for the good of us all. Amen.

Becoming Catholic: What is RCIA?

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is a Catholic program or education intended to instruct in the Catholic Faith those
who are seeking to enter into full communion with the Catholic Church through Baptism and/or Confirmation and Holy
Communion. RCIA is your compass to the Catholic Faith.
Who should look into RCIA?
• Anyone not yet baptized.
• Anyone baptized but not as a Catholic.
• Anyone baptized as a Catholic who did not yet receive First Communion or Confirmation.
• Fully initiated Catholics seeking fuller catechetical knowledge of their Catholic Faith.
• Anyone at all looking to learn more about Christianity.

The RCIA program is led by a team who will help guide participants on their Faith Journey. In addition, participants will also have a
sponsor to pray with them and guide them throughout the process.

If you think you might be interested in knowing more about the Catholic Faith, please call the Parish office at 7344254421.
