Tours, founded in 1906, and Our Lady of Lourdes, found in 1872, both located in

Bushwick, Brooklyn.

We are rooted in God’s word and the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church; we value and

celebrate our diversity, faith, hope and love in the Lord Jesus. It is our belief that the Holy Spirit

guides us through the different moments of our parish life, and that the Blessed Mother of God

assists us in this journey of faith. We are committed to help each other strengthen our faith, com-

munion and participation through God’s Word, Holy Eucharist and Evangelization. In this way

we answer the call to discipleship in our parish life. We seek to become more

inclusive and vibrant. We want to keep organizing ourselves in a way that all people feel

2:00pm. First time registration, you must bring a copy of your child’s birth Certificate, Baptism Certificate and for Adults as well. V Sunday in Ordinary Time

Jesus takes the initiative and called a few fishermen, simple people to follow him as disciples. They are not considered worthy of this election, "Depart from me, Lord, for I am a sinner." Similarly the prophet Isaiah react in the presence of God: "Alas, I cannot speak, I am a man of unclean lips!" The true disciple and the true prophet, however, do not stand on their own strengths and skills, but in the Lord. He removes the guilt of Isaiah and turns his lips with a hot coal, and Jesus turns the failed fishing extraordinary fish and fishermen fishers of men. The disciple testifies good news that does not belong, but has been free of God. In a world always aware of the latest development, the most original better, to proclaim that we are part of a tradition that comes from the early Christians is truly daring. According to this story, God is manifest and felt in abun-dance. When weary and tired fishermen are suddenly the unex-pected fact networks busting, teeming with fish, then (at the height of the plenty) is when Peter at the feet of Jesus casts, domi-nated by wonder, deep stupor seizes a person when attending a divine revelation (Ex 3: 5-6; Is 6: 1 ff). The success of such abun-dance was to Peter and his companions, a true theophany. In Jesus saw God, present there with them.

Generaciones de Fe

NUESTRA META ES DE: $405,000 V Domingo del Tiempo Ordinario

Jesús toma la iniciativa y llama a un-os cuantos pescadores, gente sencil-la, para que le sigan como discípulos. Ellos no se consideran dignos de esta elección:«Apártate de mí, Señor, porque soy un pecador». De manera semejante reacciona el profeta Isaías en presencia de Di-os: «¡Ay de mí, no podré hablar, yo que soy un hombre de labios impu-ros!» El verdadero discípulo y el verdadero profeta, sin embargo, no se sostienen en las propias fuerzas y aptitudes, sino en el Señor. Él borra la culpa de Isaías y enciende sus labios con una brasa, así como Jesús convierte la pesca fracasada en extraordinaria y a los pescadores de peces en pescadores de hombres. El discípulo da testimonio de una buena noticia que no le pertenece, sino que ha recibido gratis de Dios. En un mundo siempre pendiente de la última novedad, cuanto más original mejor, proclamar que formamos parte de una tradición que viene desde los primeros cris-tianos es una verdadera osadía. Según este relato, Dios se manifiesta y se palpa en la abundan-cia. Cuando los trabajados y cansados pescadores se encuentran, de pronto, con el hecho inesperado de las redes que revientan, repletas de peces, entonces (en el colmo de aquella abundancia) es cuando Pedro se echa a los pies de Jesús, dominado por el asombro, el profundo estupor que se apodera de una persona cuando asiste a una revelación divina (Ex 3, 5-6; Is 6, 1 ss). El éxito de tanta abundancia fue, para Pedro y sus compañeros, una auténtica teofanía. En Jesús vieron a Dios, presente allí, con ellos.

A Godparent must be a practicing Catholic, at least eighteen years old,

and must have received the sacraments of Baptism, Communion

& Confirmation. If married, must be married in the Catholic Church.

If you are living in common-law with your partner you cannot

be godfather or Godmother.
