Weekly Stewardship Report

Spiritual Life This weekend we hear that God

calls us to use our hands to build our Christian community. It is through the work of our hands

that we embody the love that God shows us.

St. Mark Stewardship

Committee was formed to connect parishioners with

opportunities to express the gratitude for the blessings God

has provided through works that benefit others in our community of faith.

In this spirit, we invite you to participate in a parish-wide ministry fair after each mass the weekend of March 2-3.

The fair will give you the chance to learn about the many organizations and volunteer opportunities that St. Mark has to

offer.

The Spiritual Life Committee is hosting a presentation on St. Teresa of Avila by Fr. Dan Bedel on Sunday, February 10th, at 6:00 pm in the church. Questions? Dinner Dance

St. Mark Dinner Dance Friday, February 22, Come Sail Away! The annual Dinner Dance will take place on Friday, February 22, 2019, and will

be held at Valle Vista Golf and Conference Center (755 East Main Street, Greenwood). Doors will open at 6 p.m. for the silent auction with dinner served

at 7 p.m. Tickets will be sold after all weekend masses January 26th - February 10th for $35 per person. After February 10th tickets will be sold for $40 each. Third Generation will provide the music for the evening. A silent auction, raffle, and other entertainment will also be provided. Please contact Sarah or Eugene Vivo (317-862-

The Dinner Dance committee is also seeking donations for the silent auction and raffle to be held during the Dinner Dance. Suggested items include gift cards, bottles of

beer, wine, and/or liquor, cash to purchase items, and any new items that someone would like to win. Also, if you know a business owner who would like to donate a

Scout Religious Awards: Congratulations to our Webelos I and Wolves Cub Scouts for earning the Parvuli Dei and Light of Christ medals and our Girl Scout Troop 447 for earning the Marian Medal! They received their medals and certificates during Mass at St. Mark and the Archdiocesan Award ceremony at the Cathedral downtown on Scout Weekend February 2-3rd. Children’s Catechesis will NOT meet on Sunday, February 17th. Classes resume on Sunday, February 24th. Enjoy the President’s Day holiday. First Communion Meeting on Sunday, February 17th from 1:30-3pm in Schafer Hall. CURSILLO WEEKENDS are coming soon! Its name comes from the Spanish word “Cursillo”, which means “small course.” The original, full name is “Cursillos de Cristiandad”, meaning “short course in Christianity.” However, it is neither a theoretical course nor a traditional retreat; it is best described as an experience. It is an experience which leads to discovering a better life and what is fundamental in Christianity. Consider joining us! A few weeks ago, our St. Mark St. Vincent DePaul Conference prepared and submitted our annual report. Here are some highlights. • We completed 65 home visits. These occur

after we receive a notice from the citywide HELPLINE. When the HELPLINE receives a call or email request, it is written up and forwarded to our parish based on the home zip code of the family making the request. We then made a home visit to each family and offered food, clothing, home furnishings and other things like rent and utility assistance based on need.

• The value of this help was a little more than $15,000.

• We logged about 850 hours of service, and about 11,000 miles.

• We served 170 individuals who are parishioners or live nearby.

• Please know that as we travel our neighborhood, and meet families who really need some special attention, that your generous support makes this possible.
