Extraordinary Ministers bring Holy Communion. If
anyone is not on the regular list, please call the Rectory.
PARISH MEMBERSHIP: To be considered
active members of St. Margaret of Cortona and St. Gabriel
Parish, each family and single adult must be properly
registered and regularly use the weekly donation
envelopes for our parish. This is the only way the parish
can issue documents attesting to parish membership
and Catholic practice (e.g. A LETTER TO BE A
GODPARENT OR SPONSOR. Newly registered
parishioners must be registered & use envelopes for at least 6
months before a Sponsor Letter can be issued.). New
parishioners are requested to visit the parish office.
ENVELOPE SYSTEM: To assist us in keeping
accurate records of your contributions, we request that
you use the weekly envelope system. This enables us to
verify your donations should it be necessary for tax
purposes. Please notify the Rectory if you change your
address.

RCIA Classes will begin on
Tuesday, November 20th at
7:30 in Walsh Hall... If you know
an adult who has not completed
the Sacraments of Initiation
(Baptism, First Communion or
Confirmation) and would like to do so, please
give the Rectory a call with that person’s name,
address and telephone number. The Church
has a vocation to evangelize the world.

do this as a parish!

A CATHOLIC TRADITION: Adhering to the
long tradition of honoring our beloved dead on All
Souls Day, Mass will be celebrated November
2nd at 11:00 am in these cemeteries of the
Archdiocese of New York:

Ascension, Airmont, Rockland County
(First) Calvary, Long Island City, Queens
Resurrection, Staten Island
Please take this opportunity to visit the beautiful,
peaceful cemeteries to remember those who have
gone before us.
LIFE MINISTRY will meet on Wednesday,

from 6:30 to 7:30 PM in Walsh

ZITI FRIDAY is always the second Friday of
the month. Our next “ZITI FRIDAY” is

Sharing the Gospel: Bartimaeus may
have been poor and blind, but he sure was
smart! He had the kind of faith that made
Jesus smile. Bartimaeus knew exactly who
Jesus was — the Messiah. And Bartimaeus
knew Jesus had the power to make him
see. When Jesus called him, Bartimaeus left
everything behind — even his coat— to
follow Jesus.
Prayer: Dear God, thank You for helping
Bartimaeus see You and follow You. Help
me to follow his example. Amen.
ALL SOULS DAY is this Friday,

. This is the day the
Church commemorates and prays
for the Holy Souls in purgatory,
undergoing purification of their sins
before entering heaven. Those we
have loved and who have gone home to the
Father will be very much in our minds, hearts
and prayers on that day and throughout the
month on November, a month dedicated to the
Holy Souls.
If you wish the names of your beloved dead to
be placed on Our Lady’s altar for the month of
November, please use one of the envelopes in
your envelope packet, or one of the envelopes in
the vestibule or just give us a slip of paper with
the names on it. Place your names in the
collection basket or in the Rectory mailbox.
May they rest in peace. Amen.
THANKSGIVING FOOD
BASKETS FOR THE
NEEDY
If you know of any family,
especially in our parish, who is in
need of a food basket for
Thanksgiving, please call St.
Margaret’s Rectory with their name, address and
phone number. Your generous spirit enables us to
distribute these baskets at Thanksgiving and again
at Christmas. Personal contributions to purchase
fresh vegetables, fruit, and pies may be left at St.
Margaret’s Rectory or in the collection basket.
Turkey donors for Thanksgiving are asked to
contact the Rectory no later than Friday,
November 16th so that we may be certain that we
have enough. Because we have very limited
refrigeration, please bring turkeys for Thanksgiving
to St. Margaret’s Rectory on Sunday or Monday,
November 18 and 19. Food baskets will be
distributed on Tuesday, November 20th. .

SPIRITUAL ADOPTION
MONTH 1
During this first amazing
month of life, the baby grows
to 10,000 times his size at conception. He is totally
dependent on his mother. Between mother and
child lies the vital organ called the placenta. Here
vessels from mother and baby intertwine without
joining, highlighting this newly formed relationship
-mutual, nourishing, and deeply connected. By the
third week, the baby's tiny heart begins to beat.
