We remember our faithful departed
throughout November. All are welcome
to inscribe the names of deceased loved
ones in the Book of Remembrance, near
the baptismal font. If you wish to
memorialize a loved one with a donation, please use the All
Souls Remembrance Envelope at the entrances to the
Church. You may place the envelope, with your loved
one’s name, in the regular collection basket. Those names
will be in repose near the baptismal font. All our deceased
loved ones will be remembered in each Mass during the
month of November.
Thank You for Tuesday Evening
Many thanks to Ron, musicians, choir, and
our Hospitality Committee for the
wonderful Prayer Service and reception last
Tuesday. Our ecumenical celebration was a prayerful
beginning to Thanksgiving holiday.
Thank you to the Hospitality Committee for all their help
with the recent Memorial Mass for the deceased.
Please note that due to the Thanksgiving publication
schedule, weekly collection figures were not available
at the time the bulletin was published. We will
resume weekly reports with next week’s bulletin.

The Pastor’s Corner
Today’s Solemnity of Christ the King brings to a
close the 2017 liturgical year. We have journeyed as a parish
through all the events of the Lord’s life; and our own. From
the Advent message of John the Baptist, the Lenten
disciplinary preparation, the glory of the Easter/Pentecost
Seasons, and the teaching ministry of Jesus in Ordinary Time,
we’ve completed another faith cycle only to begin anew next
weekend.
Beginnings and endings, births and deaths, comings and
goings are all a part of the Christian journey. As we quickly
come to the end of November, the month of All Souls, we
always remember our loved ones, we celebrate their formative
presence in our lives…and we believe with faith and hope in
the Resurrection. Bitter sweet at times, but real nonetheless.
I travel today with 30 pilgrims for a whole liturgical year
that will be compressed into 8 days! Pray for our spiritual
renewal and safety in the Holy Land. You will be remembered
every day in our Mass and prayers from Galilee to Bethlehem.
Next Sunday, the First Sunday of Advent, Fr. Chris
Murphy will be here with you. He was a seminarian assigned
to St. Margaret’s several years ago and is our vocation recruiter
and chaplain at Bishop Hendricken High School. If I have any
claim to fame, it is that I baptized him during my assignment
at St. Brendan’s! You’ll be impressed with his message.
We bid God’s blessing to Sr. Perpetua, who, after some
months of discernment, has decided to pursue other pastoral
interests in the Mercy Tradition. Her gentle, caring presence
will be missed especially by the elderly and shut-ins. Sr.
Perpetua personifies the heart of Mother McAuley, Founder of
the Sisters of Mercy. At her specific request, she did not want a
public announcement or reception. We truly will miss her! In
God’s Providence, Mr. Charles Moreira, our Faith Formation
Coordinator for grades 7-10, accepted an invitation to serve as
a Pastoral Minister at St. Margaret’s. He will begin a “soft
entry” in December and be more present in January. Thank
you, Charlie, for your generous spirit of service in St.
Margaret’s.
Until my return, Shalom Aleichem ; Peace be upon you.

Cold and Flu Season This seems an appropriate time to suspend the reception of
the chalice at Mass as we enter the cold and flu season. If you
have a bad cold or flu, you are dispensed from the Sunday Mass
obligation. Also, simply acknowledge people at Mass with a
friendly nod or gesture if you have a cold. Hand disinfectant is
available at all the doors of the Church.
