Festival Sign-up Weekend The Festival Committee invites everyone to stop over in the school cafeteria
after any of the Masses this weekend, July 28 & 29, to pick up your family’s raffle
tickets and to sign up to work at this year’s festival.
As always, we need a large number of people to volunteer to make this day a
success. Working at the festival is a great way to meet new people, or if you have
a group of friends who would like to work together, we are always in need of teams
of table waiters.
We encourage the young people of the parish to help at the festival. The sign-
up sheet has a section of booths/activities that are appropriate for young workers
(age 12-17). Children under the age of 12 must have an adult sign up to work with
them.
Please don’t wait for us to call you. Signing up after Mass will only take a few
moments of your time but is a tremendous help to those who are involved in the
planning of the festival. PLEASE come pick up your raffle tickets and sign up to
work. This will save time and money. Also, pray for good weather and a
successful festival. Thank you in advance for your support of this parish activity.
PLEASE NOTE: The LETTER enclosed with the raffle tickets is incorrect. The date
of the festival is September 16th. All raffle tickets have the correct date.
Country Store The Country Store will be in need of your donations of jellies, pickles, beets, salsa, or
any other home canned goods you might have. If you don’t make jelly or can
vegetables, maybe you can bake some cookies, fudge, bread, pastries, cakes or
pies. If you sew, think about making aprons, potholders, coasters, etc. If you
crochet or knit, maybe consider making doilies, scarves, small lap blankets. If by
chance you happen to have extra fresh garden produce, please consider donating it
to the Country Store.
Jars for Turtle Soup Clean, quart, half gallon and gallon jars may be dropped off on the front porch of the
parish office. Jars that are not true quart, half gallon and gallon size, cannot be
used for turtle soup. Please help by removing the labels and glue from the outside
of the jars.
Bushels of Baskets As we begin to arrange baskets we are in need of many items. Some ideas for
themed baskets: cleaning supplies; all things kitchen; gift wrap; laundry supplies;
party/tailgate; family movie night; car wash; beach party; handyman basket; all
things candles. We ask that your donations be new or hand-made items only. Cash
donations are welcome as we will use this to purchase themed items and basket
supplies. Items can dropped off at the parish office.
All Welcome - Mission Team Presentation & Lunch All are invited to the St. Louis Activity Center for free hotdogs and
hamburgers from 12:00pm—2:00pm on Sunday, July 29th. The Tri-
Force Mission Team will present a slideshow and share this year’s
Mission Trip with everyone. Food and drinks provided by St. Louis
Youth Ministries.
Bereavement Committee Help Needed! The Bereavement Committee is in need of more volunteers to hand out programs
before funeral Masses. This only takes about 15 minutes to half an hour before
Mass as mourners come into Church. If anyone would be interested in helping
with this most rewarding cause, please call Cynthia Decker at 812-933-0992.

Franciscan Mission Appreal—August 4th & 5th On the weekend of August 4th and 5th, Sarah Fletcher, a former
volunteer with Franciscan Mission Service, will visit all masses
and share about FMS’ work internationally and in the United
States. As a Catholic, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, FMS relies
on the prayers and financial support of U.S. church communities
to serve communities in Latin America, South America and here in
the United States. In anticipation of their visit, Franciscan Mission
Service invites parishioners to reflect on Pope Francis’ words from Evangelii
Gaudium: “Every Christian is challenged, here and now, to be actively engaged in
evangelization; indeed, anyone who has truly experienced God’s saving love does
not need much time or lengthy training to go out and proclaim that love.” How
might you be called to be engaged in evangelization? Some give by going on
mission, and some go by giving—both prayers and donations. To find out more,
visit www.franciscanmissionservice.org and look for Sarah after mass on August
4th and 5th.
