Trevor Rosenthal (5-6, 3.01 ERA) lost his sixthgame of the season on the mound pitching 5.2 innings allowing four runs on eight hits. Jose Garcia hit his second home run of theyear to provide the only run for the Cardinals on a solo shot in third inning. Oscar Taveras went 2-for-4 with a triple into right fieldin the sixth inning.

PALM BEACH CARDINALS (A) 1st Half Record: 30-34, 3rd Florida State League, South DivisionPalm Beach again defeated the South Division leaders St. Lucie (Mets) 6-1. Starter Scott McGregor made his first start since 2010after missing the 2011 season for Palm Beach. McGregor tossed 3.0 innings and allowed one run on three hits before leaving thegame due to a rain delay. Left-handed reliever Nick Gillung (1-2, 4.60 ERA) held St. Lucie scoreless over 4.0 innings to earn his firstwin for the Cardinals after the rain left. The Cardinals offense received their production from the one and two spots in the line-up. Lead-off man Starlin Rodriguez had two RBI in a 2-for-5 perfomance. Mike O’Neill went 3-for-4 with a triple and an RBI tolead the offense Wednesday.

QUAD CITIES RIVER BANDITS (A) 1st Half Record: 32-34, 5th Midwest League, Western DivisionAnthony Garcia and Luis Mateo were the heroes in Quad Cities walk-off, 10th inning victory over Kane County (Royals) 6-5. Withthe team down 5-2 in the ninth inning, Garcia blasted a two-run homer into left field to cut the lead to 5-4. Mateo then hit apinch-hit double with two out and a runner on second to tie the game at five. Travis Miller (1-0, 3.46 ERA) shut down KaneCounty in the 10th to earn the win for the River Bandits. Garcia came up again in the bottom of the inning, after Colin Walsh sin-gled, and drove a double into left-center to win the game for Quad Cities. Garcia finished 2-for-5 with three RBI, a home run, anda double. The victory snapped a five-game losing streak to Kane County.
