Safe and happy to be back! This past week all parishioners of both parishes received a letter inviting all to return to church and to re-store some sense of normalcy to our liturgical celebrations. We have all worked hard, cooper-ated with guidelines provided, and made sure that we kept each other safe. Beginning next weekend, we will make some changes in the church. The letter outlined the following:
Distributing Holy Communion in the usual way reminding all to still social distance while coming forward and returning to our seats. Wearing a face mask while moving about is strongly suggested. Offertory collections will return as well with handled baskets and collectors at each Mass. The present process has im-pacted us greatly since no second collec-tions are taken (school, maintenance and repair, etc). It is safe for our collectors to pass the baskets in the usual way. The online streaming of the Sunday Mass will be discontinued since it is safe to re-turn to church. For those who, for health reasons, still feel that they need to stay home there are many TV and online sites that provide Sunday Mass, especially EWTN, the Eternal Word Television Net-work. As usual, hand sanitizers will be provided at the doors of the church and all of those distributing Communion will sanitize be-fore distributing the Eucharist.
Thanks to all during these past several months for all the cooperation and patience with the many changes. As usual, St. Kevin and St. Benedict parishioners work together for the good of all. Now we move ahead in faith.
Please take note of the special announce-ment here in the bulletin of UNITY 2020 on Sat-urday, October 10 at 3 PM at Hendricken High School. A great event for all. Please join us.
God bless and have a blessed, safe, and healthy week!

We are paperless in order to streamline the registration process for our families
Online registration for 2020-2021 CCD year is now open.
The online form can be found on our website (https://stkevin-stbenedict.org) under the “RELIGIOUS ED-CCD and CONFIRMATION” tabs. Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic we have decided, for the safety of our parish family to move forward with homeschooling for this year for grades 1-8 (grade 2 only will have 2 in person classes along with homeschooling). Grade 9 (Confirmation) will consist of 4 mini retreats. We have reduced our fees for the year to cover some of cost of materials in order to lessen the burden to our parish families. Per Diocesan regulations your family needs to be regis-tered parishioners at St. Kevin or St. Benedict for your child to attend religious education classes at St. Kevin. If you are not registered at either church, a parish registra-tion form can be found on the website listed above under the “OUR PARISH” tab. Please register with appropriate parish before submitting online religious education regis-tration form. If your child is new to our program, it is a requirement of the Diocesan Office of Education and Compliance that we have a baptismal certificate on file before your child may attend classes. Your child’s Baptismal form can be up-loaded directly onto the online registration form or faxed over to St. Kevin’s at 401-732-2832 to the attention of Christine Reilly. There will be an additional $5 late fee assessed for any registration received after 9/30/20. If there is a financial hardship and payment assistance is needed please con-tact me at [email protected]. If fees are waived there will be a discount code that I will provide to you be-fore you proceed with online registration.

PRAYER TO BE SAID IN LIGHT OF THE
CORONA VIRUS
God our Father we come to You in our need to ask your protection against the coronavirus that has claimed lives and has affected many. We pray for the Grace for the people tasked with studying the nature and cause of this vi-rus and of stemming the tide of its transition. Guide the hands and minds of medical experts that they may minister to the sick with charity, compassion and competence and of those governments and private agencies that must find cure and solution to this epidemic. Pour out your Grace on all who are sick that they may recover quickly and thoroughly. Through Christ our Lord. Amen. St Michael the Archangel, defend us in the battle, be our protection against the wicked-ness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him we humbly pray; and do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

Parish Giving is a safe, secure, and easy way to support St. Kevin Parish by making your weekly budget donation online. During this past six weeks of social distancing due to Covid-19, budget collections have dropped significantly even though the parish costs have remained the same. Parish Giving accounts are easy to set up and users have a choice of options for making weekly budget offerings and contributing to other special collections. Some other reasons for registering and creating an account today include:
98% collection remittance goes directly to St. Kevin's
Parishioners can schedule automatic weekly offerings or manually sign in to the program each week to sub-mit a payment
Contributions can be deducted from debit or credit cards
All contributions are credited to your current budget and a year-end tax report is automatically generated and sent to you
Using Parish Giving helps keep parish costs down for printing and mailing budget envelopes
For more information go to parishgiving.org
Christmas Bazaar 2020 The St. Kevin’s Christmas bazaar 2020 has been can-celled. Please do not leave any items at the church for the Christmas bazaar until further notice.
