Estate Planning

Pope Francis Humility can only take root in the heart through humiliations. Without them, there is no humility or holiness. If you are unable to suffer and offer up a few humiliations, you are not humble and you are not on the path to holiness. The holiness that God bestows on his Church comes through the humiliation of his Son. He is the way. Humiliation makes you resemble Jesus; it is an unavoidable aspect of the imitation of Christ. For “Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you might follow in his steps”. In turn, he reveals the humility of the Father, who condescends to journey with his people, enduring their infidelities and complaints. For this reason, the Apostles, after suffering humiliation, rejoiced “that they were counted worthy to suffer dishonor for Jesus’ name. La humildad solamente puede arraigarse en el corazón a través de las humillaciones. Sin ellas no hay humildad ni santidad. Si tú no eres capaz de soportar y ofrecer algunas humillaciones no eres humilde y no estás en el camino de la santidad. La santidad que Dios regala a su Iglesia viene a través de la humillación de su Hijo, ése es el camino. La humillación te lleva a asemejarte a Jesús, es parte ineludible de la imitación de Jesucristo: «Cristo padeció por vosotros, dejándoos un ejemplo para que sigáis sus huellas». Él a su vez expresa la humildad del Padre, que se humilla para caminar con su pueblo, que soporta sus infidelidades y murmuraciones. From Fr. John – I am thinking of everyone in St. Jude and St. Thomas Parishes these days, and praying for you. I hope that you are doing ok during this unusual time. The public celebration of Mass is suspended until we hear otherwise. Both churches will be open each day 10 AM – 3 PM for private prayer and adoration. There are white books for reflection during the Easter season. Please feel free to take them and share them with others. If you would like to have a Little White Book mailed to you please call either Parish office. For now, may God embrace you in his love.

“And Peter said to them, ‘Repent, and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ…” (Acts 2:38) The word “repent” means to turn from sin, to change our actions. Change that is permanent comes from within. It requires prayer, discipline, and perseverance. Change is also hard. We have to recognize that we are broken and need help. The good news - we are not alone in our journey. Ask Jesus daily for guidance and patiently listen for his response. ""Y Pedro les dijo:" Arrepiéntete y bautízate, cada uno de ustedes, en el nombre de Jesucristo ... "(Hechos 2:38) La palabra "arrepentirse" significa apartarse del pecado, cambiar nuestras acciones.
