Each decade highlights a sacred episode: Joyful Mysteries: Through the Annunciation (1) and Visit- ation (2), we get a glimpse at Mary’s joyful yes to God. She gives birth to Jesus in the Nativity (3). Mary and Jo- seph present their son at the temple (4) and bring him there again when he is a teenager (5). Luminous Mysteries: Jesus is baptized in the Jordan Riv- er (1) before Mary gives him a nudge to his first miracle at Cana (2). Jesus proclaims the Gospel (3), is transfig- ured on Mount Tabor (4), and institutes the Eucharist (5). The light is shining! Sorrowful Mysteries: Jesus prays in agony in Gethsema- ne (1), knowing his hour of suffering has come. After his betrayal and arrest, Jesus is scourged (2) and crowned with thorns (3). He carries his cross (4), and Mary stands at the foot of the cross as he is crucified (5). Glorious Mysteries: Christ is risen in glory (1)! After ap- pearing to those he loves, he ascends into heaven (2). Je- sus’ followers receive the Holy Spirit at Pentecost (3). Mary, unaffected by original sin, is assumed body and soul into heaven (4), where she is crowned queen, humble mother of Christ the King (5).

OCTOBER 15: OPENING OF MASS BOOK 2020
Mass intentions for the year 2019 will be accepted beginning Tuesday, Octo- ber 15th from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm on a first-come-first-served basis with the fol- lowing rules: 1. In order to afford equal opportunity
for all to have Masses offered for their loved ones, each per- son will be limited to three (3) Masses on a Sunday or Satur- day Vigil Mass.
2. Masses during the week will be limited to five (5). 3. Donation for an announced Mass is $15 due on the time of
booking. 4. NO telephone reservations will be accepted. 5. NO reservations for the Vigil Candle or the Bread & Wine will
be accepted on the night of October 15. IMPORTANT: Only those who are at the Rectory will be allowed to reserve Masses. Lists for other people will not be accepted. Please help us cut down the waiting time by observing these rules.
UPCOMING EVENTS / ACTIVIT IES
The Youth and Young Adult group of St. Jo- seph Church are distributing Box of Joy to those who would want to participate in giv- ing Christmas presents to the children served by Cross Catholic Outreach — from Guatermala, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Haiti and Dominican Republic. Boxes are also available for pickup at the Rectory. Do not
forget to enclose a $9 check made to Cross Catholic Out- reach to cover shipment to child’s country. Boxes are due on or before November 3rd. Drop it off at the Rectory or bring to

On Monday, October 8th, at 7pm, the officers and members of the society will meet in church to pray the Rosary with Mass to follow. After Mass, we gather in the Lower Rectory for a
