Catholics We Have A Problem: The world has

changed. Today only 22% of Catholics attend

Mass on Sunday. Today Catholicism has the

largest number of former members: 30.1 million.

This is just one reason why every Catholic is being

asked to rediscover Jesus and rediscover Catholi-

cism. As Matthew Kelly says, “there is genius in

Catholicism”. The Good News is that each one of

us can make a difference. “Be Bold, Be Catholic”.

SUNDAY'S READINGS First Reading: So she said to her husband, "I know that Elisha is a holy man of God. Our bap-tism brings us into a very intimate relationship with God and makes us a brother or a sister to all of God's children. That identity we share col-ors how we relate to them and the level of re-sponsibility we have to them. A Bit of U. S.

Catholic History Archbishop John Carroll of Baltimore (1735-

1815). The second cousin of Charles Carroll, he was the !irst bishop and later archbishop in the Unites States. At the time of its creation, the Di-ocese of Baltimore encompassed the entire na-tion. He also founded Georgetown University in Washington, D. C., the oldest Catholic and Jesuit institution of higher learning in the United States.

San Miguel Chapel is thought to be the oldest church in the United States, with records of its exist-ence dating back to 1628. oral history says that around 1610 the chapel was constructed. The chapel has undergone rebuilding and restora-tion several times during the past 400 years, with the current building dating back to 1710. the chapel remains in use today, welcoming visi-tors for prayer and Mass.
