Forming Consciences for Faithful Citizenship

A Call to Political Responsibility from the Catholic

Bishops of the U.S.

Dear Parishioners and Friends,

As you know, this November election is pivotal. The U.S.

Bishops have updated their document entitled:

Forming Consciences for Faithful Citizenship

A Call to Political Responsibility.

The Bishops of the U.S., with this document, show us the

many interests and concerns that are to be considered and

that are at stake. This document is meant to help us form

our consciences as Catholics, as we discern our votes and

influence our country's future. It is not meant to tell us for

whom or how to vote. You can find a link to the document

on the St. Jerome website.

To emphasize our freedom and responsibility to vote and to

help us better understand this document, Fr. James will

host a town hall meeting TODAY, September 20 from

2:00 pm-3:30 pm in the Mother Teresa Center with fur-

ther explanation, discussion, questions, and answers.

It is our hope that as many of you can attend. Face masks and social distancing protocols will be observed. We are all urged to continue to pray for our country.

Pastoral and Communications Director If you are tech-savvy, great at organization, efficient in communi-cation and most importantly a passionate disciple of the Lord, filled with power and strength of the Holy Spirit, we would greatly appreciate receiving your cover letter and resume so that we can pray & discern with you about taking up this new position so as to support our Pastor and our parish leadership team to accomplish the mission of the Lord.

Please visit our website for the full job description. Submit a cover letter and resume to [email protected]

That Man is You Starting its 11th year this is a weekly program for men of the par-ish to fully live their Faith as sons of God. This Fall's 13-week pro-gram is titled ALL THINGS NEW. We watch a video followed by small group discussions. Face coverings and social distancing are required. Those not able to attend can watch the videos. Printed workbooks available. The semester began on September 3rd. Doors to Jordan Hall open at 5:50 am, and the program ends at 7:30 am. For information, call Bill Leek -- 254-716-3416 or email: [email protected].

Our condolences are extended to parishioner, Marion Palomino on the passing of her father, Johnny Martinez.

Our condolences are extended to parishioner, Linda Gough on the passing of her husband, Joe Bob Gough

May Johnny's and Joe Bob's souls rest in God's eternal peace.

Respect Life The Diocese will not be sponsoring the Baby Bank Campaign this October (Respect Life Month) due to Covid, but may do so at a later date.
