• Improve classroom teaching of Religion through effective teaching practice, including the monitoring of student progress and enhancing teacher knowledge of the Catholic story
Strategies1. To enhance the prayer life of the students, teachers and parents through well-planned
classroom prayer rituals.
• Provide appropriate professional development for staff around structure of prayer rituals and appropriate resourcing for such endeavours
• Develop a planning template to be used by staff when planning prayer rituals
• Provide invitations to leadership team, parish priest and parents to join in classroom prayer at least once a semester.
2. To educate the community, students, parents and staff about the significance of each of our newly named houses; Duhig, MacKillop and Polding
• Introduce each house patron during morning assemblies with a focus on their life story and the qualities that make them special. Patrons to be made visible in school reception area, in each classroom space. Tear drop banners to be used for assemblies and masses.
3. Audit staff to plan for appropriate professional development related to the classroom teaching of Religion
• A.P.R.E to seek feedback from teaching staff regarding professional development in the teaching of Religious Education. A particular focus on the “3 Worlds of the Text” already identified

• Support continuous improvement and growth at individual, team and organisational levels through the Performance and Development Process
Strategies1. Plan for the successful refurbishment of the administration building and junior
playground precinct in line with facilities Masterplan.
• Maintain clear lines of communication with key stakeholders. Development of Education Brief, regular briefings with architect and building services representative.

• Support the St James staff in the formulation of individual professional learning goals - Review progress in the achievement of these goals
3. Development of whole school I.T plan with an emphasis on a comprehensive audit of I.T devices.
4. To develop a maintenance plan for the school to ensure regular upkeep school facilities.

2. To develop and implement a whole school I.T Plan including the roll-out of the one to one device program for Yrs.3-6
• Provide professional learning opportunities for whole school approach to ICLT.
3. To embed a common language of Learning at St James
• To introduce, teach and create a common language of learning at St James through the use of “Learning Dispositions” which will be made visible throughout the school.
4. To continue the implementation of the three High Yield Strategies.
• Six Review and Response cycles planned for 2017 to be held in the Data Room - Provision for Data Review and Forward Planning Sessions to monitor student progress and inform future planning - More regular Learning Walks and Talks to be held throughout 2017
