Locus iste a Deo factus est, This place was made by God,

A huge thank you to Claire and David Sheppard who are singing in the choir for the last time today. The choir enriches our worship beyond the telling, and we thank these two faithful members for their contribution which has included Claire
conducting the choir while we had no Director of Music last year.
They remain parishioners but today we thank them for offering their musical gifts over past years.
NOTICES
MOTHERS UNION will meet on Tuesday, 7 th June at 12 noon in
the North Meeting Room. Our own John Batt will talk to us about English Domestic Silver. As this promises to be a very
interesting and informative talk, we welcome parishioners to join us
on this occasion.
BOOK CLUB will meet on Monday, 6th June at 2.00 p.m.
( note time change) at Jenny St.Johns (9885 6664) to discuss Fever at Dawn by
Peter Gardos.
The Vicar will be taking part in the meeting of the General Synod
Liturgy Commission this week. The Chair is Bishop Garry
Weatherill and the Commission meets at Christ Church South
Yarra. The work of the Commission is the production of
trial texts for use in Anglican Worship. There is a website

liturgy.aspx and a Facebook page: Australian Liturgical Resources where the
trial new resources can be found.
IMPORTANT DIARY DATES An informal parish meeting on
Sunday 19th June 11.30am-1pm. Please pray for the Council and plan
now to come and take part in the parish conversation.
The annual Keble Mass will be held at St Georges on 14 July, preacher
Bp Alison Taylor.
Former Vicar Canon Barry Smith will be with us on Sunday 24 July
to preach. If you would like to join those taking him to lunch at
Giorgio’s put the date in your dairy now and sign up when bookings are
called for.

MOTHERS’ UNION - Spit Roast Lunch.
Sunday 31 July. Tickets available soon. “Mercy Ships” was founded by Don and Deyon Stephens in 1978, when the purchased and converted a cruise liner to a hospital ship with 3 operating theatres and 40 bed ward. Since then 4 more ships have served 150 ports
throughout developing nations brining hope relief and healing to vulnerable people. Ships are run by volunteers from variety of
backgrounds, medical, dental, nursing, maritime and expertise in many areas and pay their own travel costs, food, etc. Mercy Ships are funded by
donations, fund raising events and volunteers and have provided assistance to millions of people in Africa, S. America and Asia. A speaker from Mercy Ships will be present with a power point presentation at the
Mothers Union Big Roast Lunch.
************ The ashes of our brother in Christ Don Bowman will be
interred in the Memorial Garden immediately following the 10am Eucharist on Sunday 19th of June.
