St. EdnaSnack Theatre

Proudly Presents

April 28, 29 & 30May 5 & 6, 2017

A Note From Fr. RichA Warm Welcome to You All,

After a two-year hiatus and months of preparation and practices our St. Edna Snack Theatre is proud to present “Once More…From the Top” – an ensemble show that will feature songs from some of our most beloved and memorable musicals.

How fortunate we are to have as many folks as we do who have so much fun coming together to share their musical and theatrical gifts with all of us today. I hope that you can feel the energy and enthusiasm that I have felt these past few months from our phenomenal cast of characters that makes up this year’s Snack Theatre troupe.

A parish is a gathering of faith-filled believers that hopefully acknowledges and recognizes its members God-given talents and skills and then finds ways for those skills and talents to be put to good use for the larger community we are all blessed to be a part of. Here at St. Edna there are so many good-hearted people who do just that with the gifts they’ve been given.

Today, I would like to especially thank parishioner, Jenni Falk – the director and creative force behind this fun-filled musical extravaganza. I would also like to acknowledge and thank the entire cast and crew for their love of theatre, their passion and their determination that enabled this show to come to fruition.

Now sit back, relax and enjoy, “Once More…From the Top”.

Thanks for joining us,

Fr. Rich

Fr. Richard M. YanosPastor

A Note From The DirectorLast fall, I saw Wonderful Town at the Goodman and during “100 Easy Ways to Lose A Man”, as the entire audience roared with laughter, I remember thinking, “That would be really fun to do for Snack Theatre” and then my brain wouldn’t turn off. That weekend, I started thinking about other songs & dances and narrowed my initial list of song options down to 482. Funny enough, the song that prompted the entire show’s theme didn’t end up making the final cut. And now, Snack Theatre is back with our TENTH show, “Once More... From the Top! “ Ten years of memories, laughter, song & dance, inside jokes, outside jokes, and lots of love.

The title “Once More... From the Top” is an allusion to all those weeks and months of rehearsals where a Herb Brooks-esque director continues to say ‘“Again” over and over. It’s these moments in the dog days of practicing when you’re sure your brain can’t retain one more jazz square (and definitely no more words) yet ultimately, through the magic of theatre, it all comes together by opening night.

A little Easter egg - You’ll notice this year, each song that we’re performing is following the alphabet, A-Z. That is, either the song title or the show title for each letter in order.

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank the production team – Vicki, Kathy, Mike, Steve, Linda, Matt & Lisa – this show would not be possible without you. I can’t tell you how appreciative I am for all your time, effort, arguments, emails... it really does take a village to pull off a production like this. Thanks for putting up with your favorite town fool.

To the cast – I am humbled and honored by your passion, talent, and dedication. To our newbies, it was great having you with us this year and I hope you enjoyed it as much as we enjoyed having you. To the oldies, thanks for continuing to say yes. Thank you for your love and friendship for these last 10 shows. #BoopBoop #musicalsurprise

And finally, thanks to YOU for supporting St. Edna Snack Theatre by coming to today’s performance. We are thrilled to have you here and hope you enjoy our show.

Jenni
