A few words of interest from Fr. Fitz: Come One! Come All!… Parish Pot Luck Supper,
This Saturday, October 5, 5:30 pm in the newly renovated school hall. We often complain that we don’t get to know our neighbors anymore. This is your chance to get to know
your brothers and sisters in Christ. Don’t pass up the opportunity! ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Mission Appeal Collection this weekend: My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, may we ever recall that it is especially through our living witness to our faith that the Good News of God’s Love is spread to the
ends of the earth. THIS IS THE MISSION OF EVERY CATHOLIC – a mission entrusted to us by Jesus Himself – as proof that He is alive. . . and that His Holy Spirit lives in US!!!! In order to help us to live up to this Missionary call, our Archdiocesan Mission Office invites Missionaries from around the world to come to each parish once a year to share their stories with us. Indeed, this weekend, Sister Lisa Valentini, MSC, of the Missionary Sisters of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, from Reading, Pennsylvania, is here to share about the Missionary work of her Sisters in different countries, as well as to speak about her own lived life-changing experiences in Mission. Sister is very happy for the chance to speak about her life as a missionary and to meet you -- our parishioners! Today’s 2nd collection will give us a unique and blessed opportunity to be a part of the work of the MSC Sisters for the year ahead. I know you will be very generous – because you always are. . . May we also commit to remembering the Sisters in prayer throughout the year. Thank you and God bless you.

Do you need help around the house? Maybe with raking leaves, painting a small room, or box-ing items for mailing or donation? If so, the Ser-vice Committee of the Saint Columbkille's Young Adult Commission would like to help. We invite members of the parish to contact us about small jobs around their homes that they can't get done on their own and would appreciate a hand with. The kind of job that we have in mind is one that would take one or two volunteers no more than two hours to complete. This service is being offered for free, and time and volunteers are limited, so we ask that parishioners be thoughtful about their needs. Please contact us with your address and de-tails of what you need help with, either by calling the parish secretary, Patricia McShane (617-782-5774), or by emailing Arika Henry at [email protected]. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
